Lexa's POV
I watched as everyone ran out of the building, and I started to run towards them. They probably had no idea who I am, but I still ran to them with the rest of my group behind me. "Nobody move!" I heard someone yell from the building. All guns were pointed at us, and everyone stopped. I saw white smoke coming from the front door and immediately wondered what the fuck Lauren did. I looked around for the girl, but she was nowhere to be found. "Don't shoot!" I heard a man yell. Cage. "Don't shoot!" He yelled again. The man walked into the middle of where everything was happening and yelled into the crowd. "It looks like one of our old friends decided to join us today!" he yelled. "Welcome back Lauren Larosa!" he said. "No," I mumbled. My heart began to sink as I saw someone carrying Lauren out of the building. And I knew this person. It was Ontari. "No!" I screamed. I began to run towards the man, more importantly towards Lauren. I stopped in front of him as he pointed a gun right at me. "Please, can we make a deal or something? Trade me for her? Something?" I asked. Cage stroked his chin as if thinking. He looked at me and began to speak. "Well, actually no. I've already made a deal with your friend Lauren over there," he said gesturing towards the girl. Lauren looked at me, giving me a sad smile.
"You see, she said that we could take her and her amazing fighting skills back to use for anything we want, and you get back all of the prisoners. So of course, I agreed, I love deals. But it's not a deal if I make another deal with someone else to replace someone else's deal. You get me?" he asked. I just looked at him with a stoic expression. I didn't really know what to say. Lauren risked herself for me, for everyone. If I manage to get her back, I don't think anyone can ever repay her. Ontari began to speak. "Lexa. Oh, Lexa, I'm just getting my revenge. For you almost killing me and then banishing me, all because of the girl in my arms right now," she just smirked at me. "And now I have the opportunity to take my sweet, sweet, revenge," she looked me straight in the eyes as she unsheathed a knife, placing it on Lauren's throat. "Please," I begged. "Just let me talk to her," Cage looked at me and then at Ontari. "Release her," he said and I ran to the girl. I wrapped her in a hug, and tears began to roll down my cheeks. "I'm not gonna die," she whispered. "Alright, time's up," Ontari said sending a cold stare my way. She tore Lauren away from me, and I just stood there and watched. She told me she wouldn't die.
As soon as Ontari took her hands off of Lauren for a second, Lauren had her in a headlock holding a knife to her throat. "Let me go, or I swear I will blow this building to smithereens," she said. A confused look crossed my face as she held up the weapon. She grabbed a god damn grenade! She has a grenade! "Whoa, whoa, wait. Stop!" Cage yelled. "Everyone put your guns down!" He yelled. "If you want to keep this building I suggest you all calmly go back inside without another word, and I keep Ontari," she said. Cage was such a coward that he didn't even try to get Ontari back, he just walked back into the building. Once everyone was inside, I turned to everyone else and threw Ontari to the ground. "What do we do with her?" Lauren asked. No one answered. Without a word, Raven came up to Ontari with a gun. "You son of a bitch. You tortured me! You cut me, drilled me, bled me, you deserve to die! And now I also come to find you beat the shit out of a little girl!" Raven lifted up the gun, pointing it at Ontari. "Fuck you," she said before pulling the trigger, making Ontari's body go limp. Lauren looked over at me, and I looked right back at her. Before I knew it, she ran into my arms and I was holding her so tight I'm not sure how she was breathing.
She pulled away, and I could see tears forming in her eyes. "Let's go home," she said to the group. We were all about to walk back to the cars before she said there was one thing she had to do. "Everyone get down!" she yelled and everyone dropped to the ground. Lauren took a few steps before absolutely hurling the grenade at the building, at least 100 feet. She had a really good arm, to say the least. The building quickly went up in flames and a loud explosion could be heard even from miles away. Even while everyone was still recovering from the loud noise, Lauren ran off. "Wait!" I yelled but she was too far away. I quickly came to my feet and chased after her. I watched as she disappeared behind one of the cars, and I started to slowly approach the car, as quiet as possible. I stopped on the other side and looked through the windows of the car, seeing two black silhouettes. Lauren was hugging Bryce, crying into his shoulder. "It's okay," he whispered to her. She pulled away and looked behind her, and right at me. She gasped and took a quick step away from Bryce, but I just gave her a smirk and a wink before walking away, Bryce not noticing. "We have to leave, now!" I yelled. Everyone piled into random cars, and when I got to mine Octavia, Raven, and Clarke were already there. As soon as I got in, Lauren came running up to the car and got in.
I quickly put the car in drive and sped off, as a hoard of walkers started to approach everywhere around us. The car ride has been silent, and I've been driving for 4 hours. Looking in the backseat, I notice all three girls are sleeping. Octavia's leaning against the window, Raven's using the headrest as a pillow, and Lauren's head is lying on Raven's shoulder. Clarke is in the front seat next to me, looking out the window. "I'm sorry," I say so only Clarke can hear. She turns her head and looks at me with a confused look. "For what?" she asks, and I honestly don't know. I just felt that I should say it. And that's what I told her. "You have nothing to be sorry for," she says quietly. "I haven't really been spending time with you even though I just asked you to be my girlfriend," I say. I've been so busy with Lauren that I haven't really paid attention to Clarke. And of course, when we finally had our day alone, we were interrupted. I went to speak again, but when I looked over Clarke was in a peaceful sleep.
