Marinette's POV
I stared at the view from the plane window. It was small, but breathtaking. It was quite awkward for me and the rest of the nine girls, because they all seemed... concerned with other things. For me, it was best to keep my mind of home
The girl next to me finally broke the silence. "Okay, I'm fed up with this silence. I'm Alya, you are..." she said, gesturing to everyone else.
"Hoping you'll shut up," one girl said. A blonde, with way too much make up. I bit my lip, remembering what the creepy man told me. Number two...
Alya pouted, and sat back down. "Hi, I'm Marinette." i wasn't disrespecting anyone, right?
Alya smiled. "You know who I am."
A brunette said, "The girl who doesn't mind her own business. Plus, you clearly don't read magazines, or else you would know who I was."
The blonde girl finally brought her nose out of her magazine. "And who are you, exactly?"
The brunette flipped her hair over her shoulder. "Lila Rossi, famous model."
The blonde rolled her eyes. "Whatevs. You can't be more famous than me. Chloe Bourgeois, even more famous model."
Lila scoffed. "In your dreams."
I leaned to reach Alya's ear. "Do you know what's wrong with those two?"
Alya smiled. "I'm pretty sure they came from a monkey clan. No offense to monkeys."
I laughed. Lila shot me a glare. Oops, she must have heard me. "You're just jealous that Adrien will fall head over heals for me as soon as he sees me."
Alya grinned. "Yeah, when he sees you, he will LITERALLY fall down the stairs in horror."
Lila scowled and continued read her newspaper. Or magazine. Whatever.
Alya, on the other hand, turned out to be quite friendly. She enjoyed the same things I did, and longed to learn music. Since she was a Two, meaning she came from mostly a class of actors, models, and politicians. Singing or any music for her was a big no-no.
"So...are you excited for the Selection?" I asked.
Her cheerful expression changed. "Yeah? I guess? I mean, what am I supposed to say? I'm happy being sold off to a man I never met. I know it's my duty to my family and this means a lot to them, but I kind of want the chance and the opportunity to fall in love by myself. Does that make sense?"
I smiled genuinely. "Loads."
Alya returned the smile. "But still, you know. I'm excited to meet him. I can't believe I'm about to see the prince tomorrow! Isn't it exciting? I wonder what he's like!"
I have a pretty good guess. I though in my head.
