Marinette's POV
Adrien was busy this week, and I only saw him during mealtimes. He had loads of meetings, and he tried to make sure he spent time with everyone. I began to think he was avoiding me. I was super relieved when he invited me on a stroll in the gardens.
When he met me there, things seemed awkward.
"Adrien," I acknowledged him, taking a quick crusty. "You've been distant."
He ran a hand through his hair. "Tell me about it. My father, and my duties. Not to mention dating the other nine girls." He sighed.
I touched his arm. "Adrien, you know I'll always be here, right? Even though I may not PHYSICALLLY be there, but I'll always be here." I put my hand to his heart. "If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here. If you need anyone to cover up your mistakes. If you want someone to cry on, I'm here. I always will." For the first time, I knew for sure that what I was saying was true.
Adrien smiled, and took my face in his hands. He rubbed a thumb across my cheek, as if it were so delicate it may break. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" He breathed.
We enjoyed a quiet, suited, and romantic silence. Adrien was the first to break it.
"He'll be lucky, you know?" Adrien said.
I smiled but squinted. "What?"
"Your ex. When he begs you to take him back."
I laughed. I truly laughed, it wasn't forced at all. "He made it pretty clear it was done, Adrien. Plus, if he did...I'm not so sure if I would..." My words drifted off.
Adrien's eyes widened. "Really? Whatever stopped you?" He smiled at me.
"Stop it." I mumbled, still grinning.
"Speaking of which!" He said, louder. "If you don't want me to tease you like this, you're going to have to stop looking so lovely. First thing in the morning, I will have all your dresses replaced with garbage sacks!"
"Yes! Please! Oh, the heavens have taken pity on me!" I pretending to pray in relief.
Adrien shrugged. "I can't help it. You're just too beautiful."
"One can't help being born into perfection." I said, fanning myself with my hand as if being pretty was such a burden.
"No, I suppose you can't." He said. I smiled. Though the corner of my eye I could see that Adrien was staring at me. As I turned to acknowledge him, I was surprised to see that he was close enough to kiss me.
I was even more surprised when he did.
I quickly pulled away, putting my hand on my mouth. "Why did you do that?"
His cheeks flushed, as he stared at the floor. "Sorry..." he said.
"Why did you do that?" I said again.
He avoided my eyes. "It's just... what you said earlier... about you not taking your ex back...I got a feeling of hope that...maybe...it was possible that you... loved me." He looked at me, reading my expression. "Oh, was it terrible? You look simply mortified!"
I tried to wipe off whatever expression I had on my face. Adrien turned away in embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Marinette.. I'm terribly sorry. I'm so confused...I just...I've never kissed anyone before. Sorry."
An unexpected warmth filled me. He wanted his first kiss to be with me. Sure, I still had feelings for Nathanael, but nothing was stopping me from this. Instinctively, I began rubbing my hand against his forehead.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm erasing that memory." I said.
He sighed. "You can't change history, Mari."
I smiled. "Sure we can. Besides, who would know about it but you and me?"
His spirits seemed to rise, as he pulled me closer. He searched my eyes, asking me if this was okay. I slightly nodded. As slight confidence appeared on his face, he bridged the gap between us. I felt beautiful. And for a second, during that kiss, I believed I was. His lips brushed mine, before making full contact. It was passionate, yet it was clear how long he had waited for this moment.
Finally, he broke apart the kiss. "Now, how was that?" He asked.
I smiled, and rested my head onto his chest. "Perfect."
Adrien wrapped his arms around me, passionately and protectively at the same time. We stayed like that, taking in what we now were.
Hiiiiiii!!!!!!
How was that? Not too bad, hopefully.
Also, I hate to be spoiling things for you, but in next chapter will be either Chloe or Lila's POV witnessing the two's kiss. I know I've already done a chapter in Lila's point of view, but it's easier for me to write what SHE feels for some reason. Idk. Just let me know in the comments who's point of view you guys want me to write in for the next chapter.
THANK YOU AND BYE!!!!!!!
