Adrien's POV

As the drug wore off, I blinked in confusion when I found a half-naked Lila under me. I blushed profusely. But I froze when I heard Marinette's sweet, cracking voice.

"A-Adrien?" She stuttered. Her eyes drifted to the half-naked Lila.

"I-It's not what it looks like." I stumbled, trying to get her to believe.

A single tear fell down her cheek. She scoffed. "I was so stupid to think you ever loved me." Then she ran out of her room. I would have followed her, but I didn't have my shirt on. My eyes drifted to Lila.

"You." I snarled. "You! You ruined everything!"

She tried to touch my arm. "Adrien, honey, please-your upset."

"OUT! OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I yelled. If i weren't the prince, I would do far more than yell at her.

Lila glared at me. Then a playful smile reached her lips. "Do you remember it?"

"Remember what? Whatever, just get out!"

"Remember what we did." The smile on her stupid face grew.

I dropped my defenses. "No." I said, blushing.

"Liar." Lila snarled, still smiling.

"Fine! Yes I remember it. Now out!"

She grabbed my hands, before I could react, placed them on her...um, boobs. "You liked it. Admit it." She sneered.

"No!I never would! Liar." I hissed.

She chuckled. "Oh? Then why haven't you removed your hands?"

My eyes darted to my hands, which were still on her chest. I yanked them away. "OUT!"

She frowned. "Fine. But you will admit it, you want me. You will resent in my absence." I left her alone, to run after Marinette.

Marinette was in her room, crying, screaming, thrashing. Her maids had already left the room to leave her alone.

"Marinette?" I called.

She sent me a glare that hurt more than ever. "What?"

"Marinette, do you know why I kept you." She didn't look at me, nor did she answer.

"I don't love Lila. I love you. That's why I kept you and not her. I did what I did with her... because, she drugged me."

Marinette didn't flinch. "You expect me to believe that?"

I felt like I had been stabbed in the heart. "Marinette, please. I love you. Why won't you understand that? I love you and you only."

Marinette finally looked at me. "Lila-"

"Lila drugged me. She's out now. SHe's never coming back. Please." I was on the verge of tears now.

Marinette frowned. Then In disappeared again. "But Finesse...you kissed her."

I wrinkle my nose. Finesse? Oh, the one with the brown hair. I had. But I had no romantic feelings for her.

"Marinette, I kisssed her because there were cameras around, meaning Father was watching. Father hopes that I will choose her, because he likes her. She has powerful allies from France. That's why I kept her. I kept Chloe because Father insisted I keep either Chloe or Lila. I kept Alya because I know that you like her with you."

Marinette took my hands. "And me?"

My eyes softened. "Mari, I thought I made it perfectly clear why you were here. I need you." I didn't dare say the words, but I was thinking them. I love you.

The next few moments came slow. I leaned it, building up tension between us. My lips brushed against hers, before making full contact. Her arms wrapped around my neck, pulling us closer as our kiss deepened. I began to push more forcefully, as we toppled onto the bed.

My lips parted as did hers. My tongue slid into her mouth. I finally pulled back and looked into her eyes.

She stared back. I was about to lean in again, when she started crying.

"Darling, what wrong?" I asked ever so tenderly.

"Don't call me that!" She slapped my arms away. "Please," she said meekly as if she was a mouse and I was the ferocious cat.

"What did I do?" I asked. "What has happened?"

"My heart has broken! Split in half! That's what happened!" She cried.

I remained silent.

"I can't do this! I can't sit here like an idiot while you go on having dates with other girls, kissing them, doing things with them, while they get their messy hands all over you. No matter how hard I try, you will NEVER be completely mine. Someone will always be here who will have a fragment of you! And..and..."

I was taken back. Is this how she truly felt. "Marinette...I could end this right now. I could declare this over right now. You would be my bride. I will be completely yours, no other girls scampering around the palace! The reason I can't is because...of you."

Marinette looked up at me. i continued, "I have already told you how I feel. You know clearly how much I care for you. You know how much I despise the other girls. It's you. You are hesitant to love me back. You are hesitant to love me. You are scared to show your feelings. I can't...no, I won't marry someone who doesn't love me the same."

SHe was silent. "Please," I begged. "Tell me that you want me as much I as I do you. Tell me that you need me as much as I need you. Tell me that you..." I didn't say the words. She had to say them.

The next few minutes were followed by silence. Finally:

"Adrien, you mean so much to me. You have a huge part of my heart. " She wiped her tears away.

"What?"

"You are a great friend. Whatever we are we are definitely, more than friends."

"And?"

"And..." Marinette prepared herself. "You should go. I have to meet Alya soon."

WHAT? Did she just leave me hanging?

"Oh." I said, my annoyance clear in my tone. "Very well." I stood up, and before I left, I said. "Goodbye, Lady Marinette."

Marinette, ya big douchebag! You two are meant for each other, admit it!

BTW, pay attention to the word choice. "Split in half." Is how Marinette describes how her heart breaks. Because one half belongs to Nathanael and the other Adrien.
