Marinette's POV
Lila's high pitched voice was impossible to cope with.
"Heeeeeeyy! Adrieeeen!!" She yelled, waving a hand in the air with the most idiotic smile plastered on her face. "The girls in the Women's Room are looking for you!" She giggled, twirling her hair. (the Women's Room is not the bathroom, it's just the room for the Selected girls to hangout)
Adrien remained calm, with a small smile on his face. "I'll be there soon." He answered.
"But it's an emergency." She pouted.
Adrien sighed. "Well," he said, giving me the same small smile. "Duty calls." He chuckled. I tried to hide the fact that I was upset. As he went off to the Women's room, I looked for Lila in her balcony. She wasn't there. Huh.
Adrien's POV
I trudged up the stairs to the Women's room. I was quite upset that my evening with Marinette had been cut short, but I blew it off. As I spotted the door to the Women's Room, Lila was there waiting for me.
"There you are!" She smiled. "I've been looking for you!"
I smiled but squinted. Didn't she already know where I would be?
"Come," she said, taking my hand. "I have something to show you. In my room." She giggled. I was starting to dislike that giggle.
"But, didn't you need me in the women's room?" I said, confused.
"That can wait." she flipped her hand, leading me to her room. When we finally got there, i said, "So, what was so important that I had to so rudely leave Lady Marinette?"
She frowned, then pouted, then glared, but smiled. Don't ask me what passed through her head. "It's um...something... in my closet!!" She said. She ran into her closet and grabbed out a ball gown. I was agitated that I came all the way here for a dress.
"Do you like it??" She said, twirling it around.
"Yes, it's gorgeous."
"I made it myself." She said beaming.
I was surprised and quite interested. "Oh? That's amazing! How did you do it?"
She beamed even more. "It's my hobby." She smiled before turning serious. "Come sit with me."
I hesitantly obeyed. "Yes?"
"Listen," She said. "I know we've only known each other for a day. Two. But I want to know a little about how the Selection. How does it work?"
I told her what the papers did. And the officials. And the spectators.
"Nooo," she whined. "I mean, what it's like from YOUR point of view."
I gulped. I didn't really want to share that. "I'm not at liberty to share that information." I said solemnly.
She pouted, then smiled. She flicked on the radio. Slow jazz music played. She took my hand, and placed it on her back. She placed her hands on my shoulders, and began to swing with the music.
"I'm not really the dancing type." I said.
"Oh? But you're so good at it!" She teased.
She slowly slid her hands farther outwards, and now her elbows were on my shoulders. She slowly nudged my arms further down her back until they were extremely close to her...um, butt. She was teasing me, I knew it.
Our faces were inches apart. She leaned in, expecting a kiss, but I just stepped back, pushing her away gently. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Are you laughing?" She said, clearly offended.
"My apologies, I cant help your eagerness." I said, stifling a small grin.
"Why didn't you kiss me?!" She demanded.
"Let me see, we have only known we existed for two days, you've done nothing to intrigue me, and I don't know you at all."
She scowled. "You don't know me because you spend every single second with Marinette."
I smiled. "Is this what this is about? Jealousy? Over Marinette? I really though you were better than this, Lady Lila. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have someone I need to say sorry to for leaving them earlier. Good day, miss."
With that, I left the room, leaving a quite distressed, embarrassed, annoyed, and frustrated Lila. After I turned the corridor, and I was sure Lila could not see me, I let out a sigh of relief.
