Finn's POV

I was told that Rory was awake and wanted to see me, I make my way down to her room and knock on the door.

I hear a gentle 'come in' and walk in the door and make my way to my wife.

"I'm so glad your ok baby." I say pulling her into a hug as I let a few tears fall.

"Baby don't cry." She says trying to soothe me.

"I know baby but I hated seeing you covered in blood, did they tell you?" I ask cautiously.

"Yes I know about Shane, I have to tell you something." She says nervously.

"Baby you can tell me anything, what is it?" I ask concerned.

"The guys and I won't be deployed for a year." She tells me and I smile.

"Really?" I ask hopeful.

"Yes, the men need to heal and I have another reason why I can't be deployed." I say evasively.

"What is it?" I ask concerned starting to panic. I see her pull something out of a drawer.

"Baby they ran some test on me. Remember how I was having stomach problems?" She asks me with a small smile playing on her lips.

"Yeah why?" I ask confused.

"You gave me a parting gift." She tells me and now I'm utterly confused and she can tell.

"Here." She says and places something in my hand and I look down. No it can't be, can it? Can it?

"Your pregnant?" I ask hopeful.

"Yes baby, we're pregnant I'm three months, I'm due on February 3rd." She says with tears and I pull her into a kiss.

"I dreamt this the first night of your deployment. I also heard what you did, you saved them." I say smiling.

"Not all of them." She says sadly and I lift her chin so I can look her in the eyes.

"Baby if it wasn't for you he wouldn't be able to come home at all." I say to assure her and she smiles.

"I'm so proud of you." I add and kiss her softly.

"I told you I would come home." She says smiling.

"You ready to tell the family and guys about our little one?" I ask her excited.

"Yeah and I get to tell the guys they will stay home for the next year. Our baby will be like four to five months before I could get deployed again." She says smiling and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Lay next to me baby." She asks me pouting. I crawl into bed with her and wrap my arms around her and put my hand on her belly.

"I can't believe we're having a baby." I say in awe.

"I know we were going to wait for a few years but it was destiny." She says and snuggles into me.

Rory's POV

A few minutes later my unit walks in along with Robert, Colin and James.

"The elders are here." Colin says.

"We'll talk to them after I speak with my unit." I say.

"What's going on?" Tristan asks.

"We're staying stateside for a year." I respond

"Why?" Austin asks.

"Well you guys need to heal and some of you need surgery as well as rehab and I can't be deployed." I say evasively.

"Why? What's wrong?" Robert asks concerned.

"I'm three months pregnant." I say excitedly.

"You making us uncles." Tristan says happily and pulling me in for a hug.

"So we won't be deployed until your baby is at least four to five months?" Ben asks.

"That's right, but we'll still train and workout." I say.

"Now Colin can you get the elders?" I ask him.

"Of course, I'll be right back." He says and makes his exit.

"Look man." Finn says handing Tristan the ultrasound.

"It's our little niece or nephew, look guys." Tristan says making his way to the others to show them.

"I'm also going to need your help with Shane's things, he left everything to me. The house, cars everything." I say sadly as a few tears shed and Finn holds me as I cry. As I'm crying I didn't realize that our family came in.

"Sweets what's wrong?" Mom asks concerned.

"It's Shane." I say sadly.

"What about him?" Marcus asks concerned.

"He didn't make it. I was just telling the guys I'll need their help. Shane made me his next of kin. He left me everything." I say.

"I'm so sorry princess." Nathalie says with sorrow as she cry's.

"There's also something else we have to tell you." Tristan says evasively.

"What is it?" Finnegan asks concerned.

"We won't be deployed for a year." Austin says with a smirk.

"What?" Grandma Francine says.

"Why?" Janlan asks perplexed.

"The guys have to heal and some need surgery as well as rehab and I can't be deployed in my current condition." I say.

"Oh my god, what's wrong?" Grandma Emily exclaims.

"It seems I gave love a parting gift before she was deployed." Finn says smiling.

"What kind of parting gift?" Steph asks curious.

"I'm three months pregnant." I say happily as Tristan hands them an ultrasound. I can see them all tear up.

"My baby's having a baby." Amelia exclaims and pulls Finn and I into a hug.

"That means you won't be deployed til your baby's about four to five months?" Grandpa Richard asked.

"That's right." I say smiling as they all congratulate us and say they would all help with Shane's stuff. They knew it was really hard on me as I have known him since I was ten years old and I was the only family he had left other than Tristan. I was a niece to him and he was my uncle, he was also family to my family and they knew that the upcoming weeks were going to be difficult.

First I was to make an appointment to see my doctor. I needed to be on a prenatal and have the baby checked again.

It's funny how you plan on starting a family down the line and at the right moment in my life it happened and I couldn't be happier. I knew that if it was a boy I was going to incorporate Shane's name somehow. His memory would live on through my child and all of us.
