Chapter 15 - parents

Matthews POV

Abbey did her hair, then she said she was going to go change in the bathroom.

" i thought we've been over this, I'm fine with you changing out here," i told her smirking with a wink.

"Yeah but i want to surprise you." She said as she smiled and slightly skipped to the bathroom. She had a bunch of clothes in her hands, all i could see was it was something red.

About 10 mins later she came out of the bathroom. I was sitting on the bed looking at my phone when i heard the door open. As i looked up i said, "Hey ba-" i couldn't finish my sentence because i was stunned by how amazing she looked.

She was wearing a short red strapless dress with a sleeveless black leather jacket. She had on black flats and a little black purse with a bow on it. She also had little black studs earrings, a silver bracelet, and a black and silver necklace that was a heart.

I couldn't take my eyes off her. And i wouldn't have except i guess i wasn't paying attention, because i heard abbey say after a while," Matthew?.... Matt?," then i looked back up to her eyes. She asked," what do you think ?"

"You look...Amazing," i said in awe. I stood up and walked over to her.

"Really you don't think its to much," she said as i wrapped my arms around her waist.

"Hell no, its beautiful" i said. Then i kissed her on the cheek. She looked into my eyes and we just stayed there for a minute.

"Oh crap look at the time!" She said when she lost eye contact with me and met eye contact with her clock. It was 6:50 and i told my parents i would be back by 7:00.

"We better go," i told her. I grabbed my shirt off of the floor. I still hadn't put it on since our make out sesh. I slipped it on my shoulders an started to button it up.

I pulled her into a hug and lifted her off the floor spinning. We walked down stairs, he parents weren't home yet so abbey left a note.

She wrote,

mom, dad, i love you. We went back to matts for dinner. Ill be back around 10:30. <3

And soon we got into my truck, I had a white chevy pickup with a red stripe down the side. It was an old model but it still ran perfectly. We drove to my house and started talking on the way.

"So... Tell me about your parents," she asked and she turned down the radio.

"Whats there to tell. They are middle age people that love hovering over me." I said as we sat at a red light, she laughed. I continued," Well they are actually really nice, they seem to like you. It seems like they like you more than me." I hit the blinker and turned the car.

She seemed to be acting really quiet. "Baby whats wrong?" I asked reaching for her hand.

"Nothing...," she was looking at her lap. I can tell now thats what she does when shes nervous. "I just am a little nervous about having dinner with your parents. I know I've met them before but i don't know. Ive never had a serious boyfriend like you before. I really don't know what to expect."

"Oh don't worry abbey. They love you already and who couldn't love you. Your a smart, lovely, and beautiful girl," i told her in total confidence.

"Ok matt, I trust you," she said and looked up from her lap into my eyes. "thanks for all the sweet stuff you always say about me. Just know i feel the same way towards you...I really do love you." Abbey leaned over the center console of the car and kissed my cheek.

"I know you do babe. You show me everyday," i said. She stared rubbing little circles on the top of my hand with her thumb.

I turned the radio back up and we listened to her favorite song she said her best friend maddy showed her. You and I by One Direction. I kept putting our selves into the song and i loved it. It kind of expressed the way i felt about her.

I finally turned into my drive way, I parked the car. We got out of the truck and walked up to my front porch. Abbey fixed her dress a little and pulled her hair over her shoulders. I asked her," you ready?"

"Yeah lets do this," she said and i opened the door.
