A Lycan's Hybrid Mate

Kage's Pov

Damn it. I don't know how Adam would react about me having a mate. I groaned yet again as I swung on the Greek god's shoulder as he took long strides down the hall.

I knew what a mate was, but I didn't believe the moon goddess would actually give me a match which just happens to be a lycan.

When I was 15, Adam and I traveled around completing filthy rich clients' orders. I didn't know about the other types of orders; the only ones he would tell me about were assassinations. A lot of times I overheard conversations of the topic on mates between either women or men. I didn't know at the time so I asked Adam. I remembered I listened intently as he spoke.

"Mates are lifelong partners to either a werewolf or a lycan. They are the other half who completes our lives, our souls, and our hearts as they are created by the moon goddess. They are soulmates. For werewolves, the age of consent to find his/her mate is usually 18 for both males and females. As long as one of them is 18, they can find their mate who is either younger, older or at the same age.

If a mate is rejected, the bond is broken and the heartbreak is out of this world. If they don't accept the rejection within three days, It can lead to their wolf to die from loss of their other half. Then soon, the human part will sink into insanity and eventually die, while the one who did the rejection, is perfectly fine. However, if they accept the rejection, they will be alright but their wolf will still weep of the loss. But luckily if they find their second chance mate, their wolf will be saved.

As for Lycans, it's a bit different. They can find their mate from age 16 only because it could take years or centuries. It is very unheard of for a one to reject his mate. There's more to all this, but that's all you need to know for now."

I recalled what he said. But what happens for a hybrid of any kind find to a mate? Especially me....

I didn't notice we where in main hall where everyone was now frozen looking at us with extreme shock as their jaws were on the floor.

I could feel my cheeks heated up. I was thankful my hair created a shield to hide my embarrassment. Once again I tried to break free from his hold.

"Put me down! I can walk! Damn it!" I punched his back even harder.

"Nah. I'm enjoying the view." His voice was husky and sexy. Oh goddess....I felt my heartbeat quicken yet again.

I could literally feel his smirk. My face was as red as a tomato. I growled but sighed in defeat.

From what I could see from my view, we were heading towards the double doors. We got outside and even more shocking and confusing stares where directed bluntly at us. I can't take it anymore.

"Just please put me down. I think am going to throw up." I lied. I actually haven't eaten anything all day and I was feeling fine except the fact my stomach felt like butterflies from the tingling sensation.

He stopped. " Hmm?...You promise you won't run?" His voice held amusement.

"Y-Yeah.." I replied. I don't think I could out run him even if I tried.

"Hmmm."

I could feel his hands on my waist as he lifted me up. I felt myself being turned upright again and placed on my feet. I got slightly dizzy for a short moment and he held me up to make sure I didn't fall. I tried to make him let go after I felt fine, but he refuses. I sighed.
