Kage's Pov

Flashback"YOU WHAT!?" Dr. Taylor's voice boomed through the wireless earpiece in my right ear.
"My apologies. They realized it was a set up at the last minute and they escaped." I calmly answered while jumping from roof to roof on the village buildings, chasing the two figures up ahead.
"And I feel like my ear is bleeding." I added.
"You shouldn't have let them get away regardless of what happened Kage. Those are half vampires that's going berserk on the people and we cannot let our clients' money go to waste. You know your duty and I expect you to accomplish it." He said as I dodged three silver bullets that was firing at me.
I sighed and landed on the last roof top and watched the targets arguing while running across the small clearing that was between the village and the forest to disappear into the shadow of the forest.
"Of course, Sir."
"Good. Now find and kill them. Once you're finished just contact me and stay put. Focus Kage. Don't let them get away." He said before the line was cut.
I breathed in and tilted my head back to stare at the moon that was illuminating the forest. The wind caressed my face and I caught a whiff of my targets' scents. I knew where they were and I knew what they trying to do.
I breathed out slowly and jumped off the building into the clearing. I decided to walk into the forest rather than run so I wouldn't waste my energy.
I could feel their eyes watching me, as I stalked slowly pass trees. They were waiting for the right time to attack. My guard was on full alert and my eyes flickered left to right for any signs of them. I knew they were close but they made sure to keep their distance.
The more I waited for them to show themselves, was the more I became irritated at this hide and seek game. I just wanted to go home and take a long deserved bath after this. Just when I was about to speak aloud, a twig snapped and the night abruptly became deadly silent. Not a sound or chirp could be heard. I stopped all movements and closed my eyes. I focused more on my other three senses in my surroundings. I could still feel their stares, hear their heartbeat accelerating and I smirked to myself when I could smell their fear.
BANG!
And now I knew precisely where one of them was.
Swiftly leaning to the right, the silver bullet shot pass me into a tree and created a hole in it. I turned around and immediately sprinted the directed where the bullet came from. I smiled to myself when my target with the gun ran out from behind the tree away from me.
He was a half vampire of course but not faster than me by all means. So I was easily gaining on him. He must have realized and turned around while running to shoot at me. I dodged the bullet and ran even faster.
Eventually, I caught up to him and tackled him to the floor, jumping on his back. I sat astride on his back and curled my right fist into his surprisingly soft short hair and held him down with my strength. He struggled underneath me to break free.
