Kage's Pov

"Excuse me but you're not taking my Pinky anywhere." A new but familiar voice entered.

I groaned at the annoying nickname but my body relaxed in relief. I dizzily looked up to see one of the Iordanou twins. I could immediately point out which specific one who is holding me right now. Especially due to that damn recent nickname.

"I-Issac?" I weakly called out.

A lopsided smirk stretched across his face. "At your service."

I shook my head.

The intoxicated scent was no longer being produced and was weakening. I could feel my strength returning slowly but surely and I could think much more clearly.

"Are you hurt?" Issac questioned as he carefully brought me to my feet while still watching the man, who is also recovering from the attack to the back, like a hawk with a glare now etched on his face.

I shook my head. "I didn't sustain any injury."

He nodded. "What happened to you?"

I was about to answer when the damn fool didn't even give me a chance to respond.

"Let me guess. You walked right into a trap led by this fucker in front of me. How disappointing. I thought you knew better, Kage."

I growled and harshly stomped on his foot. "I knew it was a trap from the beginning and willingly walked into it. My only downfall was-" I was cut off by a sudden growl.

"Let go of her right now or I'll kill you. She's mine."

I rolled my eyes and Isaac raised a brow. "Last time I checked the only one who's supposed be possessive of her is her mate, Prince Romanov of the Argyris Royal family." His glare hardened at the end of his sentence before he added, "Attempting to kidnap his mate who will also be the future Queen will not go unnoticed by me either." He snarled.

I stared at Isaac from the corner of my eye in slight amusement of his behavior. I then proceeded to squeeze his shoulder.

"We don't have time to apprehend him. We need to find Romanov and get back to the palace as quickly as possible before anything bad happens." I muttered lowly enough for him to hear as I took my time and eased away from since I could now stand on my own.

"I know. But it looks like he won't make it that easy either." He pushed me behind him to block the man's sight of me. The man growled at this. Isaac continued, "Your safety comes first so as long as you escape it should be okay. After all it seems like he's able to drain your energy or something like that. I'll hold him off so you can run."

I furrowed my brows and clenched my hands into fists. I didn't like the idea of running away but his voice left no room for arguing. I frowned but nodded anyway.

I quickly stepped back about to turn and run when the man suddenly called out the name from earlier. I knew it was not my name. So what did I freeze upon hearing it?

"Elaine!!! Don't you dare try to run away from me!!!" Black fire was heading in our direction.

Before I could react Isaac had already wrapped his right arm around my waist, lifted me up and jumped up left to the side. His elongated nails digging into the wall making us stay off the ground. Issac and I sent a death glare towards the man.
