Chapter 18

Kage's Pov

Slowly I began to regain consciousness. My eyes were still closed and my senses were a little dull at the moment.

I moved around a bit and felt I was laying down on something soft and silky. I tried to open my eyes and sit up at the same time but I had a headache and a stinging pain in the side of my neck.

I groaned in pain as I flopped back down and rubbed my neck. I waited a few seconds. The headache subsided a bit and my eyes fluttered open and met a pair of cocoa brown orbs that were close to my face which widened after a second of staring.

My eyes widened as well and I squealed out of surprise. I jumped back a bit but I bumped my head on the headboard of the bed.

"Ow..." I rubbed the spot that was hurting.

"Ah! Please forgive me! I didn't mean to frighten you my lady!" She stepped back then bowed.

I ignored her apology as I looked around and saw that I was on a king sized bed with expensive looking royal blue silk sheets and pillows, in a huge bedroom.

'Wait a minute...how did I end up here? I'm supposed to be facing the grim reapers right now.....'

"Excuse me but where am I and who are you?" I turned to look at her with slight suspicion.

She cleared her throat and began to speak, "My name is Rin and I am a maid here for the Argyris family and you are here in the Young Master's bedroom. I've been given orders by him to take care of you and I happily obliged." She explained with a wide smile on her face and bowed once more.

'Happily obliged to take care of me?'

I narrowed my eyes and looked more closely at her as she stared back at me.

She wore a knee length maid outfit and white socks with black shoes. The sleeves came all the way down to her wrists and were frilly at the end.

She had dusty blond hair which was neatly pulled back in a low ponytail just like Adam. A few freckles were scattered across her rosy cheek. Her fair white skin made her eyes stand out. She was a beautiful girl. A lycan girl. I also realized she was that same maid who stood by the entrance doors.

I noticed she started to fiddle with her thumbs as she dropped her gaze to the floor with a nervous and slightly worried expression. My eyes softened.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked tilting my head a bit.

Rin's Pov

After the Young Master left I took a seat on a chair that was at the corner of the room. I sat quietly while staring at her sleeping figure and waited for her to awake.

I had already prepare a few clothes and necessities for her earlier before they came.

Sitting quietly, I got lost in my thoughts like as if I was daydreaming.

Even though she was unconscious, her presence made me feel just a bit wary of her. I mean, I should be considering the fact she sliced our fourth commander's head off. I felt quite happy when I heard the news.

That bastard always kept hitting on me and I also had to refrain myself from tearing his hands off when he gets touchy. That and also the fact he had this weird vibe coming from him. He wasn't trust worthy and also I was way stronger than him. I always wondered how he got that position. But whatever. I didn't weep when I heard how he died but rather a wide grin was on my face.
