Chapter 24

Kage's Pov

Fuck.

Beads of sweat started to form at my temples. I gulped audibly. This woman couldn't be serious right!? She well and fucking knew she's stronger than me so why did she want to fight!?

"Mariana.... just what are you doing?" The King ran a hand down his face and sighed frustratedly while Romanov on the other hand, well, his expression was mixed with annoyance, anger and concern.

She stalked slowly towards and into the ring menacingly, intimidatingly. The way she moved reminded me of exactly what she was. Not just any lycan but a Royal. A being who could literally snap me in two.

I could see the twins take a step or two backwards while a few of the guards completely removed themselves from the corner of my eye.

Quickly, I dug into my memories of being told about these specific kind of lycans. Then I remembered Adam telling me about each one of them having a power that they were blessed with by the moon goddess.

'Ahh shit.'

I snapped out of my thoughts when a hand suddenly appeared in front of my face. I instantly jumped back to the other side of the ring. There she stood in the middle of the ring with her head tilted and a smirk etched on her face.

"Getting a little jumpy, hmm Kage? Well that's expected. At least you'll know not to pass your place with us, abomination"

I frowned. "You know My Queen...That wasn't called for."

"Just like your existence." She retorted, stretching her hands in the air.

I felt my left eye twitch.

"Mother! Will you stop?!" Romanov growled.

She ignored him and continued. "If only I could see into the future to know what my son's mate was, I would of sent your parents straight to hell before they could ever get a chance to create an offspring like you." She sneered.

"Damn that's harsh." Muttered one of the twins.

I dropped my head low, my hair acted like a curtain. I bit my lip as my hands coiled into fists so hard, my nails dug into my skin drawing blood.

'Th-This Bitch!'

I knew that she was trying to get me to lose my cool but I hated that topic. I never liked talking about my parents especially since I couldn't even remember them. And that weird ass nightmare I kept on having made it even worse.

Somehow, a venomous voice and words of hatred from a certain dead bitch wiggled its way into my head and repeated like a scratch record.

"You don't deserve to live. Your entire existence is a crime itself. Your parents should be rotting in hell. I'll do you a favor and end this quickly so you can join them."

Ohhhhh..... Chills.....

"Are you done shaking in your boots, honey? I'd like to put you in your place this instant." She stretched her hand out in front of her while a lopsided smirk grew on her face.

I took a deep breath in and out. I unclenched my hands and looked up at her.

'It's okay Kage. Just keep calm, ignore her comments and prove her wrong!' I thought determined.
