Kage's Pov

"My Queen, What are you doing here?" I asked as I narrowed my eyes at her.

For the passed few days both of Romanov's parents have mostly been absent from the time since they've captured Adam. I knew for a fact that they have been 'dealing with some issues' about him. Sure I'd see them from time to time but I have been wondering why.

Why was it they felt so threatened by Adam? Why feel threatened by a mere werewolf? Then again.... Adam has showed that he's not that much of a 'normal' werewolf either. Plus, it's obvious he knew them. Maybe on even a personal level.

Well well well.... you sure haven't changed Mariana.
I can see you haven't lost your touch on how to control your power.

She stopped walking just in the middle of the hallway. She didn't answer my question but looked at me from head to toe before settling her piercing silver-blue eyes on Lucy who was still bowing in respect with her head hung low.

I could hear the quickened beating of her heart as it hammered against her chest. I knew the Queen could hear it as well.

The Queen hummed in curiosity as she continued her way forward, straight up ignoring my question.

The closer she got the louder Lucy's heart hammered against her chest. I could even sense her fear. Then I could of sworn I heard it stop beating when the Queen directly addressed her.

"Raise your head."

Lucy gulped audibly before hesitating. I stepped back to be closer to her so that I could shield her if anything were to happen.

When she did raise her head the Queen was already standing in front us but more directly in front of Lucy.

The Queen examined her face with an eyebrow raised. She then bent her back a little as she stretched her hand out towards Lucy. Both mine and Lucy's breath stopped for a moment when the Queen suddenly hooked her fingers under her chin, turning her head at different angles.

She hummed before saying, "So you're the boy's sister."

I could tell Lucy wasn't sure if she should reply or not. I could see the hesitation in her eyes.

The Queen unhooked her fingers from under her chin and stood straight again. Then she smiled.

She fucking smiled.

"It's nice to meet you, Lucy." She said, patting her head in a fucking loving matter before she walked around us and disappeared from our sight.

The fuck?

I squatted down to Lucy's height as I put a hand on her shoulder. "You her secret love child or something?"

She looked at me weirdly before shaking her head. "Please don't make jokes like that and no. I have never met her before."

"Well, she looked at you with fondness how a mother would. Well now, this is sure interesting. I'm quite jealous Lucy. All I've ever gotten were death glares, disgusted looks and a harsh fucking beat down." I chuckled. I grabbed her hand and stood up, making her also stand with me.
