Kage's Pov

"What is your relation to Adam?" It was more of a demand than a question. I demanded to know why Adam despised Abbadōn so much.

A shit-eating grin graced his lips. "Adam and I.... go way back."

I became intrigued. "What do you mean?"

Abbadōn stood on his feet. He snapped his fingers and suddenly the cuff was no longer on my ankle but on my left wrist instead.

He held the chain in his left hand. He stretched his right hand out to me the same time the door flew open by itself.

Abbadōn tilted his head to the door before raising his outstretched hand just a bit higher, offering me to hold his hand.

"Let's take a walk as I tell you the story."

Abbadōn sauntered carelessly in front of me as he lead me down a massive hall, chain still secured in his hand.

My eyes landed on the many ancient paintings that hung from the stone walls and statues of gods and goddesses as well as the occasional light beams. Everything else was in a boring dull grey color.

The ceiling was very high, thanks to my enhanced sight I could see carvings and cracks here and there. I could only assume that whatever building I was brought to was massive.

I couldn't even sense nor see another person around. It was as if it was just Abbadōn and I alone but a feeling deep down said otherwise.

"Tell me, Elaine, what do you know about the origin of lycans, werewolves and vampires?"

I refocused in front of me to see Abbadōn glancing over his right shoulder back at me.

I narrowed my eyes into a glare at him calling me 'Elaine' but I answered him anyway.

"I have no knowledge of the origins of vampires," I started, "Adam only told me that the lycan royals were created by the moon goddess during the Greek era. Regular lycans were created shortly after 300 years and the creation of werewolves followed after them."

He hummed as we turned left onto a different passage. He stopped and looked back at me. "Anything else?" He asked a bit irked, gripping the chain in his hand tighter.

My gazed flickered to the chain in his hand before eying him warily. "He told me there were a total of exactly seven lycan royals but one mysteriously disappeared. The other six don't know of his whereabouts."

At this the bastard's lips formed into a conniving grin. "Oh?"

I blankly stared at him, unamused. "What does any of this have to do with Ada-"

"Arcadia is the birthplace of the lycanthrope, werewolf and vampire races." He interrupted while turning around to resume his stroll down the hall.

I gritted my teeth in irritation as I also picked up my pace behind him. My fingers itched to be buried deep in his chest but I refrained from doing anything foolish. I knew when to fight and when not to.
