Author's Note: Alright guys, so sorry for updating late but I have exams coming up which will depend on what subjects I'll be recommended to do for 5th form, so I'll not be updating for just a little while. So because of this, I'll try to publish chapters as much as I can during the week so that y'all have enough to read at that time.

And once again I'd like to thank you guys a ton for reading and supporting on my book! It motivates me to write more!

Kage's Pov

We walked through the halls in silence, our footsteps was the only sound being heard.

After Romanov said I'm also going to be meeting his parents I haven't said anything since then, but instead I had a full blown mental panic attack as I tried not to show it much.

I looked around for a distraction and surely I was fascinated with the paintings that hung onto the walls. The bright swirls and forms of colors were in contrast with the dark red colored walls. Beams were on each side along with exotic looking ornaments and ancient figurines.

This reminded of my nightmares because the hallways looked like the ones in them.

We were now walking towards stairs that was in the middle of the hallway and I looked through a window to see the moon hidden behind clouds and the forest trees beyond the palace walls that swayed lightly with the wind. Oddly, the scenery looks quite familiar.

I began to wonder why but just when a small flash of memory started to appear, Romanov's voice interrupted.

"What were you doing outside our walls that night?"

"Huh?"

My head snapped up and I realized I almost bumped into his back because he also stopped walking. I stepped back to put space between us.

He turned around to face me better, his hands in his pockets. With a serious expression, he spoke again more clearly.

"I found your blood at the top of that tall tree in the forest." He cocked his head towards the window and my head turned to the right to look out into the forest once more.

I furrowed my brows in confusion then looked back at him. He continued, "Long story short, let's just say a month ago when a celebration was kept, during that time when I was about....to do something, I caught on to a very faint scent that intrigued me. So, when I peered just a little more, I saw a figure in a tree resting briefly then jumped off. However, two other unknown scents caught my attention as well."

He started to stalk towards me slowly. I contemplated on whether I should stand my ground or back up just a little bit due to how intimidating he seemed. And believe me, it was normally me who would intimidate others. Well, he was a Royal.

"So Kage, what was it you were doing that night?" He inquired as his chest was directly in front of my face. His 6'5 figure greatly towering over me.

'Damn he's tall...or am I just short?'

I dared to look him in the eye as he stared down at me. My decision was set on standing up to him. It would be out of character to easily submit, but I still had to respect a Royal. But I felt like challenging him considering he's my mate.

Just then the memory that I tried to recall earlier came back. My eyes widened as I remembered on how I got hurt and the two goons who I was chasing to kill.
