Last Day On Earth

I stood in the armory with my clipboard as Enid and Carl bust through the door. "Talk some sense into your boyfriend" Enid called out and I raised an eyebrow going over to Carl as he was packing a bag. "Carl what's going on?" I asked. "He wants to go after everyone" I scoffed "Like hell you are." I turned to Enid and said "I got this" she nodded and stood back. "Were you going to tell me?" I asked and he sighed putting the bag down. "I was after I got the guns" Carl said and I walked over to him. "You know Glenn's still not back. Enid and I need to be there for Maggie." Carl rolled his eye "I said no." I huffed, "Carl." Carl turned to me and said "Look, you were wrong. This place isn't too big to protect."

He turned to Enid and said "And you need to stay back and help protect it." I rolled my eyes as Enid stepped up "This place is ready. Most of us have been trained, you know that. If you were worried about an attack, you wouldn't be leaving." Carl turned to her and said "You know how far the Hilltop is? You know what could happen? Those Saviors are out there. You know what they did to Denise, what they tried to do with Maggie and Carol, to Daryl, to Rosita, to Eugene. That's not happening to you or Chloe, all right? I'm not gonna let it." I sighed and turned to Enid. "Go back to the wall I got this" Enid didn't move and I turned to Carl grabbing his bag from him.

Carl turned to me frustrated. "You want to run into them, right? You hope they show up." Carl was just silent. "Jesus, this is about getting Maggie to a doctor, not about... Screw you, I'm going." I called out. "Chloe, stop. Just wait." He said and I sighed. Carl tucked hair behind my ear. "Just grab some pistols from the closet. But hurry. We've gotta go now. " He said but when I didn't move Enid did. When she went to the closet he turned and locked her in.

"CHLOE! Chloe!" She yelled out "What happens if you don't come back? How am I supposed to live with that? What the hell am I supposed to do?" I sighed and said "Just survive somehow." I turned to Carl and said "Follow me back to the house. Theres something I need to tell you" He nodded and followed me back to the house. We went in our room and I sighed getting on the floor and taking the key from under the bed frame. "This is what else I was hiding" I said and held up the key. I went over to our desk and opened my drawer. I took Beth's journal out and put it on the top desk before moving everything out and finding the key hole. "What the" Carl said and watched as I put the key in it and revealed the topples of guns and ammo. "What the hell Chloe!" He called out before grabbing some. "Not all. Just in case" I told him and he nodded. Leaving half of them there I put everything back where they were supposed to be. "Now lets go" I said and put a gun in the waist band of my jeans and one in my holster. The others in my bag I slung on my back.

We went out and got in the RV. I sat in the back with my notebook in my lap.

'What I thought would be a normal laid back day turned adventurous real fast. I was checking the quantity of stuff when my boyfriend and best friend rush in. Carl just starts bagging guns and Enid is telling me to talk some sense into him. We was gonna leave and not tell me. I knew he was. I saw the note on our bed when we went there. Truth is I already knew they were leaving Maggie wanted me to come with. I was doing a quick check before going with them.'

"Chloe" I heard and looked up to see Carl. I scoffed and put my notebook away roughly. "What?" I asked and he sighed. I leaned over to him and whispered "You were going to leave without me. You're lucky I already knew" I sat back and Carl nodded. "I'm sorry okay?" He said and I nodded. "mmhmm You will be" I said and chuckled as Carl gave me a weird look. I just smiled and put a hand on his patting it lightly. "I love you" I said and he kept the weird look as he said "I love you too"

"What the bitch?" Abraham called out, and I peeked over to see people in the road. "What?" Rick asked. "Enemy close.We doing this?" Rick just says "No." Abraham then moves the gearshift so it clicks. "Chloe go back with Maggie" Rick said and I nodded. I hunched down and basically crawled to the back. "Hey you" I said smiling and Maggie smiled back. "He's someone who was with a whole lot of someones who didn't listen."
