Tara told Rick about a community called 'Oceanside' Which is kinda ironic since they live near the ocean. We're sending a group in. Some from The Hiltop others from Alexandria. The plan was to go in and try to talk to them. We took the RV, and walked the mileage until we reached it.
We stood there as we saw others. "What if I just walk up and be like oops. I just stumbled upon you" I asked but Tara sighed. "Probably wont work." I nodded. "You can go in with me" She said and I looked at Rick who nodded. "Alright" I told her and Carl gave me a look. I just smiled at him before Tara tugged me away.
Tara and I walked side by side, as she asks "Is he going to be upset with you?" I shrugged. "Probably. I don't mind though" I said and she chuckled. "You guys just fight and make up all the time" She told me and I nodded, "Yeah. It helps that we basically grew up together, so we pick up pretty fast what's wrong with each other and stuff like that" I told her. Tara nodded, and I sighed. "Well lets get this over with" I told her.
Tara lead me inside their camp, and inside a house. I sat at a table while she stood in a corner. Someone came in and Tara drew her gun. The lady looked from me to her. "Hi." Tara called out and I smiled sending a mock wave. "Stay quiet and put your hands on your head." Tara said going over to her. "We should've just killed you in the village." The lady called out. "You're gonna be glad you didn't. Sit." I said indicating the table.
"What do you want?" She asked. "I want you to sit." I told her. She sat down and The door opened and closed as a girl came in. She took her laundry to an empty bed. "Hey, Cyndie." Tara called out. "You promised." Cyndie whispered, "Yeah. I did. Put your hands on your head." Cyndie walked over and put her hands on her head whole Tara patted her down. "I didn't have a choice." Tara called out.
"Why are you here?" Cyndie asked, "I said I didn't have a choice." I leaned up and said "But you do, both of you do. My friends are out there right now, and they're gonna take this place, hopefully without firing a shot." I told them ."What? You're -- You're gonna "take this place"? What are you talking about?" Cyndie asked looking at me, "We need your guns." Tara called out and she turned to Tara.
"What?" I got up and walked over to Tara. "We're gonna fight The Saviors. - You should join us." The lady just calls out "No." Tara then says "The Saviors killed your fathers, your brothers, husbands, sons, and you ran from them. I thought we got rid of them. Beatrice said there was more out there, and she was right. They came back. They killed my friends. They killed my girlfriend. They took us over. They took everything from us. We do whatever The Saviors tell us to do, and they think we're still doing that, but we're not. We're gonna fight them. And we have other communities beside us, and with Oceanside, we would have an army."
"So, that's it? "Thanks for the guns. You should join us"?" Cyndie asked, "If we fight them together, we can beat them. We have to try." I called out. "They'll win, Tara. I've seen it. So have you." The lady told her. "Just talk to the leader of our group his name is Rick. Just talk, and we don't have to take over this place. We don't want to. I can give them the signal to stop this, but you have to tell me right now." I told her, and Tara spoke up
"Listen. We're not just hiding in the woods. We're doing something. We're not giving up. I didn't want to break my promise, Cyndie, okay? But the world can belong to good people, to fair people, if we're all just brave enough to try." I nodded agreeing, "We are not good, and we are not brave. Neither you nor me. She is. That's why we're in this mess." The lady spoke and I sighed. "Please. You don't understand whats at stake here" I tried to plead.
"Look, Tara, if you take our guns, you might as well be killing us all. That's what you'll be doing." The older lady called out getting up from her chair. "We should talk to them." Cyndie called out "No." The lady argued. "We can try to stop this." I held my wrist up and I took a sharp breathe before nudging Tara. "No, Cyndie." The older lady called out "It doesn't matter. You can't." I said emotionless, as suddenly people started screaming as an explosive went off.
