Chapter 4: Vincent

Finally the bell rang signaling first block was over with. Em was waiting outside the classroom with a huge grin on her face.

“What’s got you all excited?” I asked her with a little smile.

“One we have a class together and two because I can’t wait to see you fail epicly in gym.” She answered and then laughed.

“Ha ha, very funny. Oh I need to talk to you about something.” I said and couldn’t hold back the big grin that came to my face.

“Oh, tell me. It’s something juicy. I can tell because you won’t wipe that smile off your face.” She was practically bouncing up and down on our way to gym waiting to hear what I had to say.

“Ok Em so this guy at my old school I really like him and last block he texted me saying that he had something to tell me, and to call him after school.” I said filling her in on everything. “I mean at my old school we had gym together and he always would make fun of me and stuff but he was also really sweet. I just don’t know what to do.” I turned to her with a pleading face. We were in the locker rooms now getting dressed for gym.

“Ok first off you need to calm down because as of right now it’s nothing serious. He could just really miss you like he said and he wants to talk to you or he might want to confess his love for you,” She said in an annoying tone, “and then you’ll be all happy because you like him and you’ll have your fairy tale ending.” She turned to me with a smile on her face and then started walking out of the locker room.

Really? That’s all she has to say? I’m like freaking out here and she’s just telling me to calm down. Is she insane?

Gym went by fast all we did was play volleyball. Em and I ended up playing against eachother and we got really competitive which was really fun. She didn’t know that volleyball was my favorite sport and that I rocked at it.

“Ok why didn’t you tell me that you play volleyball? It would have saved me from embarrassment.” She asked as we were getting dressed.

“Because you said that you couldn’t wait to see me ‘fail epicly’ so I had to keep it a secret. I wanted to see your shocked face.” I turned around and grabbed my backpack out of my locker and started to walk out of the locker room.

“Hey Court! One, that was mean and two, why’d you walk away?” We stopped right outside the doors to the locker room and waited for the bell to ring.

“Um,” I started laughing, “Because I thought it was funny that you thought I really did suck at all sports. I had to put on a show. I’m not mad just messin’ around sweets.” The bell rang and we started walking to the lunchroom. We have lunch together and then we have to split to our next class.

I’m glad I have someone to sit with so I don’t look like a complete loner because that would suck big time. We got our food and then went and sat down with Em’s friends. She introduced me to everyone and that was about it. Everybody went into there own conversations.

“Hey Em am I still coming over after school? Cause I seriously need to have someone there when I talk to him.” I asked.

“Yea, of course. Plus I want to talk to him.” She smiled at me and then turned and started talking to one of her friends. I think her name was Samantha.
