BAHAGYANG gumalaw si Keira na nakaunan sa kaliwang braso ni Jeremy. His mind still couldn’t cope up on everything that just happened. He was sure that he was the very first man in her life after what happened a while ago. But he thought she was pregnant. Naitaklob niya ang isang kamay sa mga mata. She lied about that fact as well.
He shook his head and looked at her sleeping face. This woman never failed to surprise her and make his heart soar high. Iniyakap niya ang kanang kamay sa baywang nito at hinapit pa ito palapit. Yumakap ito sa katawan niya.
Ngumiti siya at bahagyang yumuko para dampian ng isang halik ang mga labi nito. He never felt this kind of satisfaction in his life before. He didn’t deny to himself that this woman made him feel like the luckiest guy on earth after what happened between them a moment ago.
He knew he had hurt her; he wasn’t very gentle at that time, masyado siyang nadala sa sariling emosyon. He nearly stopped when he saw the unbearable pain that crossed her lovely face when he entered her, kung hindi niya lang narinig ang mga salitang ibinulong nito.
Tinitigan niya ito at hinaplos ang mukha. He didn’t just want her, there was something else in this woman that made his heart and mind went crazy. He knew he couldn’t live without her anymore.
Then he remembered what she confessed a while ago, ang tunay na pangyayari sa buhay nito. He should have killed her brother nang makita niya ito noon, ang lakas ng loob nitong akuin ang haciendang hindi naman pala nito pag-aari. He swore to do everything in his power to punish those bastards.
Dahan-dahan niyang inabot ang cell phone niya na nakapatong sa bedside table at nag-dial ng numero. “It’s Jeremy. I need your help, Rafael,” sabi niya sa kabilang linya. Rafael Choi was one of his friends at ito lang ang alam niyang puwede niyang lapitan kapag kailangan niya ng tulong gamit ang awtoridad. “Gamitin mo ang impluwensiya mo sa mga awtoridad. I want you to order a warrant of arrest to Anderson Alvarez and Manette Santiago immediately for killing Carlos and Jasmine Alvarez three years ago,” ilang sandali siyang tumigil para pakinggan ang sagot nito. “I don’t care kung matagal na iyon, all you have to do is to file a warrant. I will tell Thaddeus to open that case as a murder, alamin mo rin kung sino ang naging abogado ng pamilya nila. I know it’s not impossible for you, right, Rafael? With all your connections?
“Alright, thanks a lot, pare. I owe you this one. Call me as soon as possible,” aniya at tinapos na ang tawag. Tinawagan niya naman si Thaddeus, ilang sandali lang niyang ipinaliwanag dito ang lahat at mabilis naman itong sumang-ayon.
Muli niyang ibinaling ang tingin kay Keira at hinalikan ito sa mga labi kaya bigla itong gumalaw at nagpilit umiba ng posisyon pero agad niya din itong niyakap sa baywang at ipinaunan sa dibdib niya. “Everything will be alright, baby,” bulong nito. “I will take good care of you now.”
