Have you ever been so hungry that you can't eat anything? I know, that sounds completely insane. But that's how it was. I hadn't eaten anything in over 24 hours, and most the time when I even skip one meal I can't bring myself to eat a single bite of food for the next week! I was so hungry that my mind was blocking out the signals from my stomach begging for food. Yes, you can go for about a week without any food, but it is highly not recommended.

So, anyway, the camp was preparing to move, but that wasn't going to be until tomorrow. But the signs we were preparing to move were everywhere. Everything was in boxes and wagons, just the tents weren't put up yet. Once again, that would come tomorrow. That morning the first thing I saw when I stepped out of my tent were a bunch of desperate cooks looking nervous. One of them approached me and stated panicked, "No one wants any of the traditional breakfast! They want pancakes! Will you help us!?!" Honestly I had had enough of pancakes to last me for the next 3000 years. So I wrote the recipe on a spare scrap of paper and ink they had on hand. They then bowed, almost kissed my feet in thank you, and ran a fast as they could for the kitchens.

The rest of the morning was boring. But I felt so lazy that I just sat in front of my tent staring at the ground all morning. I only moved when Eragon came back from the kitchens after getting lunch. He had left me with Arya and Saphira, who were having a mind conversation without me. Eragon came back eating the biggest meat drumstick I had ever seen in my life! It was soo fat! So he walked up to me, and it's like everything went out of focus... except for the drumstick. My vision zoomed in on the drumstick, and it was like the meat stick had grown a halo and angel glow.

I stared it down (see the influence those people had on me!!!), and I never blinked once! Arya was now having a conversation with Eragon, and I was staring down a piece of meat. Eragon moved the meat up to his mouth to take a bite from the stick. Without my consent, my head followed the meat up. I never blinked. Eragon took a bite and put it down again, I followed it again. It was like my head had a mind of it's own. Which it did, my mind, but............ you get the point! I didn't want to look at the meat stick, but my body was out of my control at this point.

This went on for several minutes. My eyes were getting extremely dry, but they still wouldn't blink! Eragon raised the meat up to his mouth again, and that's when he noticed I was staring at it. He lowered it slightly, I followed. Arya looked at him, he looked at her, they had a mind conversation that I couldn't hear, and Eragon asked, "Um, Sadie, do you want this?" "No." "Are you sure?" "Yes."

Eragon moved the meat in all directions now, and my head followed it! I felt like my dog when I tease her with chocolate! It was humiliating, but I couldn't stop myself no matter how hard I tried! Eragon and Arya had another silent conversation, and then Eragon asked, "Sadie, did you eat anything today?" "No." They talked again. "Did you eat anything yesterday?" "Not that I can remember." "What about day before last?" "I think I had lunch, but I'm not entirely positive. But I'm pretty sure I ate breakfast."

Eragon looked at Arya with a stunned look. That's when Arya stated, "You need to eat something!" "Why?" "Because you're obviously starving!" "But I don't want to eat anything." Arya stopped, looked confounded, looked at Eragon, and raised her eyebrows. He shrugged. Apparently they didn't know how to deal with a situation like this. A child who refuses to do what they tell them to do! Oh no, end of the world! It looked like their brains melted or something!

But, Saphira's brain hadn't melted. She knew exactly how to deal with a situation like this. Is turned her giant eye to me and said: Listen, you are gong to eat something or we are going to force feed you!! "But I'm not hungry!" But you WILL  eat something or so help me I will make you eat something! Now, you must understand, I'm a very stubborn person. I'm also very persistent. That combo ends up in a person who will never give in if it is within their power. I'm also a person who analyzes things to try and find loop-holes in them. That was I don't have to do some things that I don't want to. That was a bad move in this situation Sadie!! Saphira knows how to use your excuses to her advantages!!!!!!

"Look, Saphira, I don't want to eat anything! Besides... you couldn't  possibly force feed me! Your claw is much to large! I doubt it would even fit in my mouth! Not to mention it's unsanitary!" Are you saying my talons are dirty!?! "Um, yeah. Look at them! They are covered in that dirt you are laying in! And you went hunting recently! Which means they have bloody all over them! Ewe!!" Saphira scowled, I cleaned them this morning! "Yeah, with your tongue! That isn't sanitary either!!!" Saphira's eyes got brighter. I'm pretty sure she wanted to kill me at this point.

"And besides that, your claws are razor sharp! They would impale and kill me before you could force any food into my mouth at all! That could be extremely painful you know!!!!" Bad move Sadie. Saphira got a type of "dragon-grin" on her face at this point. And that's when you used the leverage! Well, you're correct. I would impale you! So that gives you a choice. You can either eat some food with us watching you to make sure you actually ate it, or I can force feed you with my claw! Your choice.

I stood there for a minute. And came up with the best come back possible. "But I DON'T WANT TO EAT ANYTHING!!! And my reasons are valid! Therefore you can't force me to eat anything!" I know, that is the most pathetic comeback ever! But I was focusing on a piece of meat while I said it.

Saphira's voice and eyes suddenly got extremely hard. You will either eat food or I will impale you with my talon feeding you like the hatchling you are!!!!! "Did you just call me a 'hatchling'?" (Apparently being called a "hatchling", by dragon's standards, that is an extreme insult.) Saphira growled, Choose Sadie!!! The food or the claw!?!

At this point I knew that she was soooo serious that if I pushed her anymore that I was probably going to die. So, I chose to give in. I forced my gaze from the meat stick, and said quietly ,"Okay, okay. I'll eat some food. Just don't stick your sharp, ginormous, claw in my mouth!" Great! Let's go to the kitchens.

With that Eragon, Arya, and Saphira escorted me through the camp to the kitchens (if you can call a bunch of metal boxes outside on the ground with tables around them a kitchen). There they picked out the biggest slab of meat I'd ever seen in my life for me to eat. And I had to eat every little speck of meat off that bone or else Saphira was going to stab her claw through my throat trying to force me to eat it!
