Well, to put in a simple terms, the entire day so far had been completely and utterly boring. The camp was packed up and ready move. Everyone was in a jumbled mass of everything. Cattle in the back, people in the middle, and King Orin's Calvary in the front. The elves, Arya, Eragon, Saphira, and I were sitting on the side, a few feet away, to the mass of cranky people. Everyone was in a jumble, there was no organization, and it was insanely hot. This is actually what we were waiting for, organization. We couldn't move until everyone and thing was organized. And once that happened, I was told that apparently this loud horn would go off and everyone would start moving. We were heading to Dras Leona, and it was going to take forever. We were only moving 12 miles today, and then another 12 tomorrow, and another 12 the next day, and the next day, and the next day, until we finally got there! It was going to be a very long few days.

The walk would have been shorter too, except there was a freaking river connected to the biggest lake known to man in the way. Lake Leona was huge! And we had to walk around. Yay!!! (that was sarcasm!!!) But I was sitting there, waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and sitting in an air of annoyance. You see Roran, Eragon's cousin, had been given orders from Nasuada to ride to Aroughs ASAP. He was made Captain Roran for this mission and was to lead a certain amount men to take the city. However, this city was on the other side of the country. The exact opposite direction we were marching. And on top of being in charge of a bunch of men that it's his job to sacrifice himself for, he also did not replenish his wards. This made Eragon very angry because the wards were what helped keep you from getting hurt. And Nasuada told Roran NOT to get his wards replenished from Eragon, and then he left without even saying "goodbye"!!!! Let's just say Eragon was NOT in a good mood.

So we sat there. Eragon was talking to Saphira, as usual, which got on my nerves because I was being left out of a conversation! Well, because he was down in the dumps and bored to death, Eragon went over to the nearest piece of flat area on the ground, pulled out his sword, and began to fight nobody!!!  It was funny to watch him fight nobody. I mean, his form was superb and his strikes were deadly, but he was killing the air!!! I could almost imagine him shouting, "Die you air!!! You have done me wrong for the last time!!" Luckily for me, Saphira and I started up a conversation on Eragon's mood, and she laughed with me as well.

After he was sweating like a horse, he raised his voice a little bit, and said to the elves, "Will one of you cross swords with me for a few minutes?" The elves and Arya were in deep conversation, which abruptly stopped. They looked at each other, then looked at Eragon, then back to each other. Finally, after forever, one of the elves, Wyrden, stepped forward and said, "I will, Shadeslayer, if it pleases you. However I would ask that you wear your helm while we spar." "Agreed," Eragon replied. (For those who don't know, a helm is a helmet. XD)

So Eragon ran over to Saphira, grabbed his "helm" from her saddle bag, ran back to the flat ground, he and Wyrden did a magic spell on their swords to keep them from drawing blood, and then they began to spar. Eragon flanked Wyrden's right side, but before he could do anything was forced to dodge a blow from Wyrden. They exchanged a few blows, Wyrden began to almost beat Eragon, and I could tell that he was getting very annoyed with himself and his sparring buddy. So, after a few minutes, he lowered his sword and thanked Wyrden for the wonderful duel. But he was trying not to explode!

So, he rested for a second and then challenged Arya to a duel. The thing that blew my mind about this is that he was annoyed, in a bad mood, and he wanted to spar a person that the last time they sparred utterly destroyed him! I knew what was going to happen.....

So, the two elves made small talk about how Arya wasn't going to beat Eragon as easily as she did last time and then they fought each other. It was really sad. Eragon was distracted by Arya's beauty. She crushed him. Then he wanted a rematch. This one lasted longer, but she still dominated. She got angry, then he was humbled. She flipped him to the ground and crushed him, again! Then he got up and asked, "I don't understand!"

Arya told him straight out, "You have become too accustomed to fighting Galbatorix's soldiers. They cannot hope to match you, so you take chances that would otherwise prove your undoing. Your attacks are too obvious- you should not rely on brute strength- and you have grown lax in your defense."

"Will you help me?" Eragon asked, "Will you spar with me when you can?"

She nodded, and replied, "Of course. But if I cannot, the go to Blodhgarm for instruction; he is as skilled with a blade as I am. Practice is the only remedy you need, practice with the proper partners." This is where I broke into the conversation. I couldn't stand being silent anymore!! "You know, I was always told practice makes perfect," they looked at me, and Arya was about to say something, but then something hit all of us.

It was like a wave of anguish flowing through my body and mind. Then I heard a deep, majestic voice from a once great warrior. You must learn...... to see what you are looking at. This, I knew, was the voice of Glaedr. I had read about how this dragon had lost his rider, watched him die, died himself, and was now stuck in an Eldunari', but I didn't know it was this bad. It was heart-breaking, I almost cried. Then the voice faded away, and didn't come back. "Wow," I said out loud, "Glaedr really is in a ball of misery, isn't he?"

That's when all of the elves, Eragon, Saphira, and Arya looked at me with complete shock. True, Glaedr and his once-rider Oromis was one of the deepest secrets the elves had ever kept and only Eragon, the elves, Nasuada, and Arya knew about him. But let's face it, I've read the series, seriously, 3 times. "What!?!" I asked defensively. "I told you Eragon's life story in Nasuada's tent without ever meeting him before, showed you books with you guys as the main characters describing this war, and your surprised that I know about Glaedr!?!" Arya asked very cautiously, "How much do you know?" "Oh, I know everything." "You can't tell anyone! Swear you won't!!!" "Dude! Calm down would ya!! I 'd never tell anyone!!! Do you really think that I would tell anyone about Glaedr if I haven't already? Gosh! I've been here for a few weeks now and you still don't trust me!?!"

Ayra looked stunned at my speech, but only responded with, "Alright. I believe you. My apologies." "It's fine." That's when Eragon and Arya rushed over to Saphira. They had a silent conversation, which once again annoyed me! Then a rather loud sound of a horn went off. I went to Eragon and Arya, because I didn't know what was going on. Eragon was strapping in the saddle, tightening the buckles and straps around his legs to prevent him from falling.

"What's going on?" I asked. "It's time to move," was Arya's reply. "Okay. So I just walk with you, right?" "No. The elves and I have to run. We are the security line on the sides of the Varden and scouts." "So......... what do I do?" "We've decided that'll you'll go with Eragon." "But Eragon is flying on Saphira." "We know." "Um............ I think I'll just walk. Thanks." "Sadie you don't have a choice in the matter." That was the only warning I had before she grabbed me by my waist and threw in the air as high as she could.

Eragon caught me, and set me down in the saddle in front of him. I tried to get off, but he blocked my way. "Did I ever mention to you guys that I have a slight fear of heights?" I asked nervously. Well I guess you better get over that fear. And what better way than to fly with me!!! Saphira told me. I was going to reply with something smart, but then she took off.

It was cool. But I was extremely scared. You see I've always had this thing about heights...... So I hugged Saphira's neck with all my strength, which isn't very much. Eragon just held on to the saddle and balanced himself with his legs. I gripped the sides of the saddle with my knees, causing them to hurt. Just relax!!! And enjoy the ride!! Saphira told me. So I loosed up, the tinniest amount possible. The wind flew past my face and through my hair. It felt good with the heat. After a while, I began to enjoy myself, and relaxed. Eragon and Saphira actually opened their minds to me and we had a nice conversation about the latest thing they had seen in my head..... television.
