"Papa!" tawag ng apat na taong gulang na si Czarina sa Papa niya. "Papa, I have a question."

"What is it?" Binuhat siya nito at maayos na kinandong sa lap nito.

"Papa, are we rich?"

"Ahm.. we are," tumatangong sagot naman nito.

So, that's a lot of money! Lots and lots of money! "Wow!" bulalas ng batang si Czarina. "When I grow up, I will buy many boys!"

Gulat na niyuko siya ng Papa niya. "Do you mean 'toys'?"

Umiling siya. "No, Papa. Boys!" Czarina chuckled. "I like boys. They are so handsome. I will buy a lot of them!"

Tumawa ang Papa niya at niyakap siya nang mahigpit. "You can't buy boys, Clara. And you can't have a lot of boys. You just need one."

"Then, I'll buy one!" Si Eugene! Yung kaibigan niya sa day care, tatanungin niya si Eugene kung puwede niya itong bilhin!

"No, Clara," iling ng ama. "You can't buy anyone, remember that."

"But if I buy them, I will keep them in my room and I will have them forever." Napasimangot siya. Gusto niya hindi na umuuwi ang mga kalaro niyang boys. Pati si Eugene. Gusto niya kanya lang.

Natawa na naman ang Papa niya. "It's not like that, sweetheart. You will have someone to stay with you when you grow up. Iyong hindi ka iiwan kahit anong mangyari. At hindi sila binibili. People will stay in our lives because they wanted to and not because you pay them to."

Huh? She can't understand. "Papa, a boy will stay for free for me?" Ganoon ba iyon?

"Ahm, something like that." Napailing ito at natawa na naman. "Oh, Clara. Don't grow up so fast. Now, you're thinking about boys." He kissed her on the cheeks. "You can't buy them, okay? Don't even try to."

Humarap siya sa Papa niya at tumayo sa hita nito. Hinawakan niya ito sa magkabilang pisngi. "Papa, ikaw lang boy sa life ko, promise. I love you!"

Napangiti ito at binuhat siya. "And Papa will always stay with you! You don't have to buy me, do you, my pretty Clara?" He kissed on the cheeks, again.

Little Czarina giggled and hugged her father's neck. "Papa, I have one last question."

"Yes?" Hinaplos-haplos nito ang buhok niya.

"Am I makulit?"

"Sobra!"

She giggled. "But am I pretty?"

Her Papa held her tighter. "You are so pretty, Maria Clara."

Humarap siya rito. "You love me?"

"Yes! So much!"

"Gaano ka-big 'yung love mo sa'kin, Papa? Is it super super duper ultra mega big?"

Napangiti ito. "Mas malaki pa sa super super duper ultra mega big love."

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya. "You won't leave me, ha?"

"Never." Her Papa looked at her. She smiled at him. His smile grew bigger. "You will always have me, Clara. Kahit gaano ka pa kakulit at pasaway, I will always stay for you because I love you."
