Chapter 2 - Surprise

Dimitri looked nervous for just a second, but soon this look was gone and I dismissed it.

He pulled tight into a hug and soon after his lips were on mine. With that kiss I realised how much I truly missed him.

He pulled away gently, and looked deeply into my eyes. Once again nerves flickered in his eyes. But as soon as it appeared it was gone, and I once again dismissed it.

" Hey there baby, I've missed you. " He said after a while. Most times we didn't need words we could read each other perfectly, that's how deep our connection was.

" Hey there yourself comrade. I've missed you too. " I said giving him a huge smile.

He suddenly pulled away and looked at his phone which must've been on vibrate. He then looked back at me and pulled at my hand.

" Come on Rose I have a surprise for you. " He looked excited and nervous a rare look for Dimitri. He gently pulled at my hand and I went willingly but I still argued about it.

" What's the surprise you know I hate surprises. "

" You'll love this one. " He simply said and with that we walked in silence for about 20 minutes, we didn't need words and I didn't want to ruin the moment with silly arguments. Our silence was never awkward our eyes betrayed feelings that's words could never explain.

We were destined to be together. Two people that together were a whole. I truly did love him unconditionally.

We come to a stop near a wooded area. My eyes opened wider in shock and happiness, Dimitri must've noticed this and said;

" It looks just like the one at St. Vladimirs right? "

" It really does, how did you do it. " I asked still in disbelief. In front of me stood, a wooded cabin that looked exactly like the one back at the academy, where we had spent our first night together. My thoughts went back to that night and a huge smile crossed my face.

Dimitri once again read my emotions perfectly, and pulled me closer to him kissing me gently.

" I started to built it and then Lissa had some people help me since I was away they just finished it today. "  he answered my unsaid questions. He once again looked nervous, but the look was soon gone again.

I took in all the beauty around me. The cabin stood proudly, in the middle of a meadow surrounded by tall tree's and flowers everywhere. Beyond that was a lake in which you could see the sun, reflected in its beautiful bleu waters.

" Its so special, Dimitri I don't know what to say it's pure perfection. " My voice was filled with emotion, and tears threatened to leak from my eyes.

Then suddenly Dimitri broke our embrace and got down on one knee. Oh my God I knew exactly why he was nervous, and why this place had to be perfect.

" Roza, you are my true love, my soulmate. I have never loved anyone like I love you. You complete me in ever way and I couldn't even begin to imagine my life without you. "

He took out a black velvet box from his pocket, in it stood a ring. A pure white diamond stood in the middle of a black band, with black and silver diamonds surrounding it. Colours that meant so much and we're so familiar do Dhampir's it was breathtakingly beautiful and perfect.

" I love you Roza, I will love you for the rest of my life. Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me? "

I froze, shocked but seeing Dimitri's panicked face I dropped down to my knees where he knelt and kissed him. When he pulled away I managed to say;

" Of course I will, yes I will I love you Dimitri. "

Dimitri let out a big breath which I hadn't realised he was holding. His eyes matched mine full of happiness and pure joy. His smile widened as he pulled my hand closer and slipped the ring on it. I took a closer look, it was truly beautiful.

Suddenly Dimitri stood up and scooped me up, into his arms. He led me into the cabin.

Once in there he set me back down gently. The cabin was full of flowers with a small kitchen and living room, to the right of the cabin stood a beautiful bed covered in more flowers.

It was all so beautiful that my emotions got the best of me and tears leaked from my eyes.

Dimitri turned ti me with a worried look.

" Don't worry they are happy tears, tears of pure joy. I'm the luckiest person alive to have someone like you love me the way you do. I love you Dimitri I always will. " I reassured him and it seemed to work as his whole body become visibly more relaxed.

" I'm the one who is lucky to have you Roza, and now I'm even more lucky to be able to call you my soon to be wife. Rosemarie Hathaway-Belikov sounds perfect. "

Before I could say anything he brought his lips down on mine, a soft gentle kiss. As he pulled me towards the bed the kiss become fierce. Soon after that our clothes disappeared, lost on the floor. The kissing intensified, and our bodies layed on the bed perfectly intertwined with each other. Just like two pieces of a puzzle we fitted together completing each, and that was how it was meant to be forever.
