Chapter 11 - Early Wedding Gift.

Lissa POV

"What's wrong Lissa you are worrying me." Dimitri and Rose made their way to the sofa, and sat down I was so nervous. It had been hard keeping this from Rose for so long, and now that I could finally tell her, I was really nervous about her reactions.

"Go on Lissa we can tell each other anything." With those words I was encouraged and started to talk, choosing my words carefully.

" Rose, I've seen the way both you and Dimitri look at the twins, I know how much you both want a child." I saw Rose trying to argue at this statement.

" Please Rose, listen till the end and don't  interrupt." She nooded I breathed in deeply and carried on.

"For the past couple of years Christian and I have been researching a way for two dhampirs to have children. We didn't tell you because we didn't know what we would find. We found some manuscripts that gave us an option. It uses spirit, and throughout spirit I'm allowed to change your DNA, its only a very slight change but it would allow for you two to have children. This change makes your body recognise Dhampir sperm as Moroi hence allowing you to have children. As a spirit user I can only do this once. As my best friend, and sister I wouldn't do this for anyone else but you and Dimitri. This process has only been performed once because once it was discovered, we didn't know how to gather spirit from nature, it takes a lot so it would take me a while to gather spirit from nature, to be able to perform this I'll be tired but it won't affect me in any other way. Please let me do this for you, you've done so much for our family."

I finished and looked up at Dimitri first, who had his guardian face on, and Rose seemed to be thinking really hard about something. I held Christian's hand tighter for support, and he squeezed it slightly.

After what seemed like an eternity Dimitri broke the silence.

"What risks would there be for Rose, and the baby?"

"Well we're not sure, this has only been done once before. Through the manuscripts we've learned that if Lissa changes the wrong part of DNA, Rose could run into some problems. But Lissa wouldn't let that happen to you Rose. She has been studying the DNA non stop for the past couple of years she knows everything about it, and where every part is. For the baby, the thing is he or she will be a pure bred Dhampir, however they may be able to wield magic. As far as we know from the manuscripts that's all. " Christian finished calmly, but I could tell he was excited. He wanted Rose and Dimitri to be truly happy, just like we were. He might mess around and never admit it, but I knew he loved Rose as if she were his sister.

"This is our wedding gift to you. Please think about it, it would make me the happiest person to be able to give back to both of you just a little of what you give to us both and the twins everyday." I looked reassuringly at Rose.

She had been quiet the whole time, and had stared at the ground. This was starting to worry me. But then suddenly, she looked right at me and spoke.

" This is not happening, I'm your Dhampir, you're guardian I have to protect you and your family, not put you in danger by performing century old crazy magic." With that Rose walked out of the room.

She was my guardian, but above all she was my best friend, my sister. She saved me and took care of me so many times, why wouldn't she let me do this for her. All I knew was I wouldn't give up on this.

I just couldn't.
