Chapter 18- The Prophecy

I walked with that letter in one hand, and Dimitri holding my other hand. We made our way to the meeting room. I took a deep breath, and Dimitri turned the knob on the door.

As we walked in, others had already gathered. There was Lissa and Christian, Abe and my mom, Adrian and Sydney, Jill and Eddie and then there was Sonya, Mikhail and Mia. All our closest friends and family, were here worried about the letter.

"Thank you for coming everyone. Rose has the letter, and she'll read it." Dimitri broke the silence.

I carefully opened the letter and took a deep breath to steady my voice.

"This letter is a warning. That baby that you're carrying belongs to the stragoi.

We will do anything to take it from you. Now if you Rose chose to give it, to us willingly we will spare your loved ones.

We won't let that baby live, the prophecy must not come true.

Choose wisely, it's the baby or all your loved ones." I finished almost choking on the words, and fighting back the tears. Dimitri moved towards me and pulled me towards him tightly.

It was Abe that broke the silence that followed.

"I knew this would come, the prophecy is true I just didn't know it would be my grandchild to full fill it. "

" What are you talking about, old man." I asked, as everyone turned to look at Abe. He adjusted well to having all eyes on him, and went on with his explanation.

"When you first told me about Lissa's idea, for you two to have a child. I wanted to make sure I gathered as much information I could, just to make sure everything was safe for you Rose. I come across a prophecy about a baby that would be made by spirit. If you give me some time, I'll have someone bring the manuscript up." He said, he picked his phone and whispered a few words 10 minutes later, a guard knocked on the door and handed Abe some old looking papers.

"Ah here it is. " he said pointing to some papers. He then went on to read it.

" There will be a time where a child who is born from 3 parents will bring a new dawn to all Moroi and Dhampir. She will wield all 5 elements of magic yet she will still be a Dhampir.

She will know what true love is, right from birth.

For she will be born not only from the purest love between two people but also from the purest friendship there is.

She will bring the new dawn, for she will be every stragoi's downfall."

"Yeah that's a great speech Abe but why would it be about our baby.?" I asked I didn't want to believe the prophecy. I didn't really believe in all that mumbo jumbo. So I wanted facts, to say it was really meant for our baby.

"Well first of all, this child technically has 3 parents, you Rose, Dimitri and Lissa without the three of you together there wouldn't be a baby. She is born from true love, yours and Dimitri, and true friendship from you and Lissa. The only thing, we don't know is if she wields magic. There's a test but we can only do it, when you're 6 months along." He finished. Everyone was quiet, pondering his words.

"If you're right Abe, this baby will be the most important baby ever born, plus to protect this baby will take everyone in this room. What Abe has said doesn't leave this room. Understood? " Lissa spoke up and everyone nodded in agreement.

Was my baby really going to have to go through this. If Abe was right everyone would be out to kill my baby. Every stragoi out for my baby. Tears weld up in my eyes, and Dimitri held me tighter to him.

I didn't care what some stragoi letter said or some stupid prophecy. I was keeping my baby and everyone in this room.

Even if it was the last thing I did. I would protect them. I held my stomach thinking of my baby.

"Nothing will happen Roza. I'll protect you and our baby with my all. I love you Roza and as long as we are together, we can do anything. Just take a look around everyone here is willing to protect our baby we can do this. " Dimitri's calm voice broke through all my thoughts.

I believed him. We could do anything as long as we were together. I looked around the room and each person nodded in agreement with Dimitri. In that moment I felt all the love, the love for my baby and right there and then I knew we would find a way we just had to.
