Hello all! I'm still on my hiatus but I just decided to take a few minutes to go through the comment section and read what you guys tell me because, let's be honest: your support and love have been what motivated me to finish this fanfic.
I still haven't finished reading all the messages and comments you guys wrote, but I will (trust me) when I finish my exams in June. I did read a few and I'm so touched by some of the messages and the lovely things you sent to me. Hello, 700 K+ reads on smoker? This still feels so surreal to me. Thank you so much for this everyone.
However, I do wanna touch a bit on the part about negative comments. I do get that some of you might not like my writing style or the grammar mistakes I make or just simply the vocabulary errors that keep popping up every once in a while when you go from pages to pages. I do get that and as a writer, I can't be selfish and think about only what I want to write. I have to think about what the audience would like too, and how I can reach out to you more.
Thus, with this in mind, I'm going to admit that I am completely open to criticism and ways on how I can improve my writing. Smoker has not been proof-read so if you guys comment about some grammar and vocab errors (and fix them while you guys were at that which I am thankful for by the way) I don't mind. Those are just silly mistakes that even people whose native language is English, make too.
However, if you just straight up come @ me about it RUDELY like "Hey, no offense but your language sucks and it's so hard to understand your fanfic" without-knocking-on-my-door-first kind of rude, then you need to get out of here. Seriously, I don't want a reader like you. Of course like I said, I don't mind if you wanna critiscise my writing because I'm just a rookie writer and there's still room for improvement but do it the right way.
Don't just come up at me and be all like "it's so hard to understand your fanfic it's so frustrating trying to figure out what you're trying to say" bla bla bla. Do it politely. It's called common courtesy, look that up on the dictionary in case you don't know what that means too. It has nothing to do with me being a baby or not. Try meeting me in real life and say that to me face to face, bet you'd find that rude if someone were to walk up to you and literally say that to your face.
It's all about common courtesy and respect, guys. And it goes both ways, if you don't respect me, why should I? So, the next time you think that there's something I can fix on the way I write, knock on my door first. Don't crash a party which you're not invited to.
Thank you. Saranghaeyo.
