{Location: The airjitzu temple}(Seliel's pov)
I hear Willow scoff loudly through the thin tan bamboo doors, "We're not here to tell Cole fairy tales." Her voice carries as I quietly walk up to them. "Now split that."
In my hands is a tray holding several dishes of Kai's cooking, meaning they are either under done or burnt. They just have to deal with it. I feel my lips twitch up at the thought of seeing Cole. Especially seeing how those three have been stuck in that room for almost a week.
Katara snicker, "You know it's not exactly a myth." She sounds more than frustrated as I quietly knock on the door. "Come in."
I slide the door open with my foot, "Hey. How's magic practice going?"
Cole's holding a basketball and slides his finger around a cut on it with his right hand, "Yeah. I got it." He spins the ball on his finger until the ball falls to the ground in two pieces. "GHAA!"
"I'm guessing that means no." I barely hold down small giggles as that would only frustrate him more, "Hungry?"
Willow doesn't hesitate and grabs a small bowl of shrimp. "Starving."
"We could use a break." Katara sighs heavily and takes the rice, "Some days I wish that blocker spells were never made."
"So, no progress then?" I try and not let worry in my voice as a plan rings in the corners of my mind. "A whole week for nothing?"
"I can split things," Cole rubs his eyes as he just takes a sip of water, "Putting them back together is more of a challenge."
"What about Jay?"
Cole shrugs, "I guess I was in the moment."
"You'll get it." I set the tray down as I load worst news in my next sentence, "And I've got some news."
Willow seemed more ready to fall asleep then talk anymore. "Good or bad?"
"Zara figured out it was a mind trick." I recall the news from earlier, "But she thinks that the lost child is in one of the nearby villages."
"How many?" Katara runs her finger around her tea cup rim, "Tell us."
"Almost twenty-six bodies were found this morning." I hate bad news and their faces as they fall.
Willow doesn't seem hungry anymore. "We need to keep trying."
Cole nods but is very tired, "I know but I'm barely levitating anything anymore."
"Not to mention there are those pesky bonds holding you back." Katara's wings are dimly on as she is exhausted too. "Even if we didn't have a Fay looking for us, I'm not sure I can undo all the bonds. Unless we would like to be here until we're sixty."
I hold down a sigh as my plan b becomes plan a, Ok. I may not know anything about magic but I know someone who can reverse it. I smile as the sun begins to set through the window, "Just keep trying. I'm sure we're bound to have some good luck soon."
Willow quickly gathers more food, "Yeah, that'll be the same day Fenwick rolls over in the grave."
Cole has a teasing smile, "Don't forget, Ninja never quit."
"Well, " I smile calmly, "Best of luck. Kit, Skylor and I have to run to the four weapons blacksmith shop and pick up the frightstone weapons. And don't worry about your dad, the police have him in witness protection." I walk back to the door as the three continue on their mystery lessons.
Skylor and Kit appear behind me, both fully dressed in armor, "Did they buy it?" Skylor folds her arms.
"Yeah." I don't want to do what's next but I have to, "And we have to go ahead with our plan."
