Chapter 27. The darkness

{Location: Chen's island}(Kit's POV)

At my current speed, I'm lucky that I haven't tripped and fallen on my face. I zoom past trees and wildlife when gravity lifts around me. Apparently, Skylor is impatient and picks up me, Kai, Lloyd and herself to get us to the place faster. In the courtyard, Destiny's Bounty is there and my friends are on deck, looking a little more than just mad. Skylor sets me down first so I have the give away the bad news first, "Lloyd touched Willow." I bite the inside of my lips.

Jay loudly sighs, "Great. Wonderful. Now, we're all going to be split and after that. Die!"

A low growl emits from Morro as Lloyd and Kai land, "That's your concern. Zara has Katara and THAT'S YOUR CONCERN?!"

Seliel responds to the rising tension, "What about Cole?" She pauses, "And Willow? Are they just collateral damage?"

Lloyd has a drastically different mood as those two glare at each other, "This is my fault. If I hadn't touched Willow-"

Sensei bangs a gong and we jump from the sound, "Stop it. Whining and complaining will neither save them or us."

Kai looks angry but at something other than this topic, "But we have no idea where they're heading."

Zane's lips pull into a tight line as Aquila whimpers below, "And they are too fast for us to track."

I recall the vision that prevented me from saving my sister, "Actually, we do know where they're heading." I point to starboard side. Everyone walks over to see my latest work. It took half the palace wall but it was intimidating. A mountain with a light temple overshadows a dark jungle. Some of the temples is in ruins with Zara at the temple's door, arms wide open like she's waiting for a hug.

Nya whimpers, probably at the idea of where we're going, "The Dark Island?"

The tension is replaced by cold fear, even Kai seems to sense the chilliness of this, "And the temple of light?"

Seliel gulps hard, "Isn't that the same temple that gave and took Lloyd's golden power?"

"Yes." Lloyd looks close to tears as the art show is now over, "But we didn't explore it. Who know what other powers my Grandfather hid in there."

Skylor gulps, "Maybe we should call the other elemental masters."

Lloyd frowns, "Not smart. It'll take them too long to get here. We barely have time ourselves."

Seliel seems ready to cut off Zara's wings, "Plus, they may not hold back and hurt Cole...I mean, them. Instead of helping."

Even Sensei seems to catch a case of the worries as he nods, "We must leave soon, the Dark Island is far and we have little time."

Misako grabs a small roll of scrolls, "I'll stay behind and look after Ultra Dragon and Aquila." She finds a small rope ladder over the side and climbs off.

Pixel runs to the helm, "Setting a course for the Dark Island."

Zane grips the railing, "We need to get there as fast as we can." The Bounty lifts up and flies eastward, "Morro, can we get a push?"

Morro holds his hands out but nothing but a small breeze's escapes his palms, "Come on. Stupid wind." He yawns a little.

Lloyd frowns as the Bounty now lands in the sea, "You've been awake for almost for fifteen hours. You need to sleep, Morro."

Morro shakes his head. "Our friends need our help. I can sleep after this is over."

"Nya can get us there just as fast with her water power. Go take a nap."
