Chapter 28. And the light

{Location: The Dark Island.}(Lloyd's POV)

I slowly open my eyes as someone frantically shakes me. I'm laying down in my bed with Morro still asleep above me.

"Lloyd." Kit's face looks over mine, "Wake up. We're here."

I blink a few times as drowsiness slowly leaves my eyes, "Where's...Willow." I get a flash of what happened to her. "We're at the Dark Island?"

Kit doesn't answer me as she gets on her tiptoes to wake up Morro. "Come on," She tugs at his hair with no response, "Geez, should I go get the gong?"

I lick my lips as I get off my bed, "Let me help." I charge up an energy blast and zap Morro a little.

Morro jumps around on his hammock from fright, "Are you trying to kill me?" He somehow got tangled and now swings with a glare face.

Kit and I both crack up at his position, "Oh my-Where's Jay's camera at when you need it?"

Apparently, our laughter wakes up Seliel, she rubs her eyes on Cole's bed. "What's so?" Then she sees Morro and busts up laughing.

Morro looks in between me and Kit and sees himself in the bathroom mirror, "How'd I even do this?" He snickers then gets out.

My laughter soon dies down as I remember the reason Kit woke us up, "I wish Rosie was here for that."

Seliel and Morro look down. Remembering their missing loves.

The air gets cold as Morro balls his fists, "If Zara hurts one hair on any of them," He trails off as the pressure in the room sharpens and my ears get clogged.

Seliel wiggles her fingers out, then puffs her cheeks to get them to pop again, "I know. But we'll save them before that happens."

I think of Rosie, I know she's tough but this seems out of her league. I bite the inside of my lips, trying to hold down my anger until I can see Zara, "I hope that they know that." Then I get an idea in my head, "Kit. How are they?"

Kit shrugs her shoulder then sighs heavily, "I don't know. My visions are fluid. I guess Fenwick hasn't determined how this ends for us." At some point, Kit changed. Now she's wearing a pair of black sweatpants a light pink spaghetti strap shirt and a dark pink cotton jacket with broken buttons.

The air returns to normal as a sad frown pulls Morro's lips down, "So we're running in blind?"

Seliel scoops up her helmet and puts on a hard face, "For Cole, I'd run in blind, both hands tied behind my back and through fire."

I smile a little as that is hard to top, "For Willow, I'd take another shot from Zara's spell. No matter how crazy it might drive me."

Morro seems closest to tears, I almost forgot he had to hold Katara as she died the first time, "And I refuse to lose Katara again. To anyone."

Kit cracks her knuckles then shakes her hands out, "Well missing them won't bring them back. Come on. We're ready." Kit runs out the door and up the steps.

We follow her and see storm clouds gathering above us, their peppered and let in a little sunlight. Making the island look all the more sinister. Then the Bounty lands at the beach instead of the mountain.

I look for Nya, who's hunched over and out of breath, "Why can't we get closer?"

Pixel walks out of the bridge, her armor was recently polished and threatens to make me blind with what little sunlight we have, "We used up our remaining fuel getting here."

Zane then stands up, for some reason he, Kai and Skylor were under the floorboards, "And the Bounty's gears are locking up from overexertion." Zane then plops a big set of tools on the deck as he wears the wooden board like a hat.
