note: dA. "Leave Out All the Rest (Dad!Iruka+Child!Reader)" eh?
I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared. But no one would listen, cause no one else cared.
Iruka shot up in bed, eyes watering. His dolphin, where was she? His little girl, he hoped she was okay and wasn't hurt and-
"Daddy? Why are you crying?" The Umino noticed the light flooding in from the doorway. A small figure stood in the light, holding on to a stuffed bear. The child walked over to her father's bed, having difficulty getting onto it.
Iruka sniffled slightly, wiping his eyes. "It's nothing, sweetie..." he murmured. He didn't want her to know; it would affect her social life because she wouldn't want to leave him.
After my dreaming, I woke with this fear: What am I leaving when I'm done here?
"Daddy, are you sure nothing's wrong? You can tell me." _____ looked up at with, eyes wide and worried for her dad's health.
Iruka stared down at his daughter, eyes blurring once more.
So if you're asking me I want you to know...
"When my time comes, _____, help me leave behind some reasons to be missed... Okay?" Iruka asked softly. He pulled _____ close, letting his eyes shut out light.
"Daddy?"
"Forget the wrong that I've done, sweetie. Don't resent me, please...and when you're feeling empty, keep me in your memory, always..."
"Daddy, you can't die... Cause you're invincible, Daddy. Cause- cause you're Daddy." Iruka's child started sniffling, clutching the fabric of Iruka's night clothes.
The adult let a smile cross his face as he held _____ closer. He didn't want to let her go; he wouldn't for a long time. Just knowing that she was like this upset him, but he felt relief because he knew that she would do all of what he asked.
He knew because he, Iruka Umino, had a closer bond with his daughter, _____ Umino, than he had with almost anyone else.
Leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest...
