I hated being mute. I hated it so, so much. No one knew I was mute; they wouldn't pay attention enough to me out of battle to know anything about me.
"Ah! S-sorry, mister!" When I glanced up, I seen a girl scrambling to pick up all the things she dropped.
I bent down and helped her, and she glanced up with a thankful grin on her face. The only response I gave was a small nod as we both stood up.
"Thank you, sir!" She giggled lightly. I nodded again and handed her back her stuff. "My name is _____! What's your's?"
I pointed to my vest. She looked confused, so I did a few circles on the color. "Red?" Nod. "That's a cool name. I've always liked that color!" My cheeks heated up a small bit.
"D'you wanna come over for a bit? I made tea and cookies before leaving, so they might still be a li'l warm."
I nodded followed her to her house.

"So, Red, I'm sorry to ask, but..." I watched as she became a little nervous. "Are you mute?"
I almost choked on my tea. She noticed.
She, _____, a girl who had only known me for half an hour, figured out that I'm mute.
My own mother doesn't even realize I can't talk!
"Are you okay?" I nodded quickly, giving her a small smile. I watched as she snapped her fingers, and she left.
A few minutes passed before she came back with a small whiteboard and a black marker. She handed the objects to me and I quickly scrawled a thank you on it.
"You're welcome, sir!" she replied, smiling. I felt a small smile form on my lips.
She was so...peppy. It was a nice change of atmosphere.
And to top it off, she didn't even know who I was. That was a definite plus.
"Where do you live, sir?" I blinked a few times.
I usually travel.
"Oh. Well, then...wou-would you like to stay here tonight?" A bright blush formed on her cheeks, and I guess mine mirrored her's, because mine were definitely burning.
That'd be nice.
She gave me a tiny smile.

"R-Red?"
I raised my head to stare at _____. She had her arms wrapped around herself, and her body was shaking.
As I sat up, thunder clapped. Lightning lit up the room enough to show that she jumped, and that fear was in her eyes.
Smiling lightly, I opened my arms. Just a second later, I could feel her body against mine.
"Thanks..." she whispered quietly, seeming to calm down some. I just nodded and pulled her under the blankets with me, holding her like a kid would a stuffed Pokemon.
I think I'm starting to fall for her, but who cares if that's a bad thing? She's absolutely perfect.
