"Hey, Gary! Guess what?!" Gary glanced up at the //-haired female with a raised eyebrow. "Tonight there's supposed to be a meteor shower! And it's supposed to be even prettier since there's a full moon!"
Gary tensed up at the last two words. _____ hadn't noticed, thank God.
"I can't go." He hated this- three days he had to leave, just so he wouldn't hurt the poor girl. Gary knew how much it hurt her; that's why he left her with Pete.
"Wha- but Gary!" she said, wrapping her arms around his neck. He had turned his back towards her previously.
"I'm sorry, _____. But, it's just... I can't. I can't tell you why, either." Gary frowned.
The --eyed girl gave him a sad stare as she moved to look him in the eyes. "Why not?" she asked. Gary flinched at the broken sound in her voice.
"I just...I have to find something. If I find it, then we can hang out. But...if I don't..."
"I can help you!" the girl chirped. "What is it you need?"
Gary glanced around. Fuck...too many people...
"Let me take you somewhere that people don't usually go. Then I'll explain everything- as long as you promise to start biking back when it's six."
The girl nodded happily, running off to grab her bike while Gary went to find his. They didn't need to tell each other where to meet; it was always at the gates.

"So, here we are," Gary stated blandly, motioning to the abandoned area.
"What is this place?" _____ asked.
"I really don't know. But I guess it's time to explain why I come here whenever there's a full moon..."
Gary took a deep breath as he stared at _____. "Don't not be my friend after this." She nodded.
And so, he spoke. "When I was a kid, I was traveling in the woods. Alone. It was a full moon, and I...don't really know why I went against my parents orders. So, because of my stupidity..." Gary raised his shirt to let _____ see the bite on his left side.
She flinched, mumbling "Must've hurt..."
"It did. For a second," the brunette added. "I felt more powerful after it, and over the next few months, whenever there would be a full moon, I started taking on wolf-like qualities. So, I started to research it."
"But you were a kid?"
"A smart kid. Who disobeyed his parents sometimes."
_____ nodded.
"So, that's when I figured out that I'm a werewolf. Or, some form of one. My form doesn't exactly get killed by silver or stuff like that; anything can kill us. Even emotions." Gary grinned. "And there's an antidote. To where I can be completely human and not have to leave for three days every month."
"What's the antidote?" _____ asked. Gary shrugged.
"Some sites said it was confessing to someone you love, other's said it was a kiss, and this one site that had been true so far..." he trailed off, eyes flashing. "Had said the person they loved had to do anything to get to them in the other form."
"Who do you love?" the girl asked.
"Who's the only person I've told this too?" Gary's chest clenched. His eyes widened as he checked his watch.
Shit!!
"It's way past six!" Gary exclaimed. The pair's eyes widened. But _____ stayed put.
She wrapped her arms around Gary as he was transforming. "I'm staying," she said.
A growl escaped Gary's muzzle. He didn't want to hurt her; it was so hard to hold back. But he had t- wait.
What was happening?
Gary felt everything, just...disappearing. He was going back to his human form.
But he...hadn't been fully changed?
"See!" the girl giggled, nuzzling his neck. Gary blinked, but a small smile formed on his face.
"Whatever," he replied, holding the girl close. He didn't need to say those words right now; neither did she.
They both knew that they loved each other.
Gary knew because she stayed.
_____ knew because Gary hinted.
And they both lived a child's fairy tail ending.
