Driving along the road, gazing out at the beautiful darkness the sky held. The whole day to myself, endless ideas of where this blue truck could take me. My music accomplishing the challenge to settle my mood.

Heading for the beach, hours away.

Envelop myself in the Sun, hear the rush of the waves, feel the cold breezes continuously pass. Maybe even explore a little, find a cute place to eat. Collect some captivating shells. Or even draw some more.

As I arrived, hopping out of the truck onto sand it all went away. All the pain, fear, worries. For once I felt it was all okay, as if I escaped reality and landed straight in my imagination. Vacant, not a person insight to catch a glimpse of the heart warming sunrise.

I set up my chair, easel, and tied up my hair in a ridiculous messy bun. Perfect timing, the Sun was emerging into the dark sky. Changing the blue dusky colors, developing warm shades of yellow, orange, and pink. The exquisite iridescent sky reflecting over the calm waves.

I carried along my best art materials, never used before. My color chalks and oil paper, adequate for this occasion. Each stroke, delivered delicately all another step closer to the completion. Until finally, I put down the chalks, got up, and took a step back. The attributes were remarkably identical. Hell, I didn't know I had this in me still. I was proud, very proud of what I just accomplished.

Placing the drawing back in the car, I enjoyed the rest of my day alone. The intensity of the people on the beach was low, no one at all. However the energy in the waves grew. Towering down, crashing to the shore.

Clouds raced in, throwing down rain, roaring with thunder, and stricking lighting. My day was cut short, however I was not disappointed. I got back in the truck and prepared for the hours of driving ahead.

Grant came to mind, about an hours way. I'm upset, but I didn't want to cause a fight. I'm sad, but it's not worth the risk. My feelings aren't valid to his heart nor mind.
