Azaria
He made a beautiful breakfast, my all time favorite. Crepes with a little cool whip on the side, along with a tall glass of orange juice. He left by 7:30 to go to work, I was all alone for the next 10 hours and 30 minutes.
Unfortunately I had nothing to fill in this time, no job, friends to make these endless hours flash forward. I took out my easel and charcoal, and sat outside on the balcony. The magnificent city, everyone in a different pace, heading in their own direction. Some people knowing exactly where and when they need to be somewhere. Others absorbing the time slowly. Everyone with distinct figures and features, the world never seemed so prepossessing.
I never took the time to notice how wonderful this Earth truly is. It all just looks to astonishing, and how much i would miss it. I'd miss the beautiful sunrise, the night sky filled with stars miles and miles away, the sounds of the waves, the taste of the home cooked meals, and I'd be robbing myself.
I began to draw, every motion, the single individuals, the towering skyscrapers, the traffic, the landscape, anything that asked for my eyes attention. Soon enough my first drawing in, I'm not sure how long was completed. It was, ravishing and unique. Placing it in an empty frame, I then hung it over the small black sofa.
Grant's house was all black and white, little color at all. Elegant in each every way. He told me his proposition once before.
"The world I live in lacks of color, so when you enter you bring the color. Enlightening the whole household with your shine Azaria."
It was 10 p.m. and Grant still wasn't home, I tried to reach him but I got sent to voice mail. Texted him once, but he read it and didn't respond. I decided to have a glass of wine and read a magazine.
Hours passed by slowly, I had nothing to do but wonder the apartment in my underwear and over sized t-shirt. 2:15 and still no calls, by this point I had at least three glasses of rich red wine. With one last call I left a voice mail.
"Hey, not sure where you are. Get back to me when you can I'm concerned. I love you, bye." With that I called it a night.
