Small beams of sunlight peaked through the window. The curtains softly blew due to the small crack of the window. The air smelled of morning dew. A calm, peaceful smell. A comforting smell.
Tyler softly stirred, slowly reaching up towards the headrest to stretch. A gentle smile upon his lips, he exhaled, then he opened his eyes. His eyes were met with a shirtless chest. He squeaked, glancing up at the face of who the chest belonged to.
He slowly sat up, stretched his back, then stared back at Josh. It's still so unreal to him. Tyler stared at Josh, he really stared at him. He analyzed the shape of his nose, lips, eyes. Everything to do with his face. He noticed the mess of Josh's red hair, and how adorable it looked.
Tyler kept staring until he watched Josh's honey-hued eyes open and stare back into his almond ones. Josh grinned at Tyler. Tyler took detail in how his eyes crinkle when he smiles, but only when he truly smiles. Tyler sighed in contentment, and smiled the same way back. He hasn't been this happy in a while.
Tyler sat in a straddle position on Josh. Nothing sexual. There was pure bliss during this moment. Neither felt it was sexual or was intended to be. Tyler finally got up off Josh and off the bed. He picked up Josh's shirt he ditched in the middle of the night and threw it at him.
He then began to browse through his clothing for what to wear for the day. He goes with the first thing he can think of; a plain mustard yellow hoodie, black skinny jeans, and his floral vans.
After getting dressed, he walks out of his bathroom and meets eyes with Josh, who is sitting on Tyler's bed, shirt now on.
"So, my family will be able to see you, so how are we going to get you down there unsuspciously?" Tyler questions. Josh shrugs, furrowing his eyebrows in thought. Tyler's eyes light up, "Go out the window and knock on the door!" he exclaims, pulling Josh up and toward the window.
"What if I get hurt?" Josh asks.
"It's not like you're going to die!" Tyler states, pushing Josh out the window. Tyler skips downstairs, then, when he's near his family, he starts acting normal. Right as he starts walking into the kitchen, there's a knock at the front door.
"I'll get it!" Tyler exclaims, rushing to the door. Tyler swiftly opens the door and smiles at Josh.
"Play along," Tyler whispers to Josh.Tyler motions for Josh to come in and leads him into the kitchen. Everyone turns and stares at Josh.
"Tyler, who's this?" Kelly asks, full of confusion.
"This is Josh, my friend. We have a project to work on for school." Tyler answers. Everyone's face forms into shock. They're not used to seeing Tyler have someone over, or hanging out with someone."Well, you guys have fun! If you want anything, let me know!" Kelly states enthusiastically. Tyler nods his head and grabs Josh's hand. Tyler runs up the stairs, pulling Josh with him.
"So, do you have any leads on where Abigail could be? Who could've took her?" Tyler questions. Josh shakes his head no, sighs deeply and falls back on to Tyler's bed. Tyler hums in thought.
"What about your sister, Ashley, could she possibly have ideas? Anyone else?" Tyler asks. Josh nods his head, "She could possibly know more than I do. She was more closer to Abbie than me." Tyler grins and does a little dance.
Tyler shoots down the stairs.
"Mom, can I take your car?" Tyler asks. Kelly quirks her head to the side.
"What for?" Kelly questions. Tyler bites his lip, "To get, uh-" Josh interrupts him, "To get materials for the project were working on, we don't have some of what we need." Tyler gives him a look of appreciation.
"Sure thing, then." Kelly answers. Tyler grabs the keys and rushes to the car with Josh.
"What's your address?" Tyler asks Josh. Josh replies with his address, and Tyler drives to the destination. They arrive after a few minutes, and Tyler admires the huge two-story house with blue siding and a black roof with white trim. The shrubbery is taken care of, so it isn't all over the place. There are roses and tulips grown in a flower bed.
Tyler gets out and makes his way towards the front door. He turns and looks at Josh, "Do you know how they'll react to seeing you?" Josh shrugs, "I'm fairly certain they won't recognize me." Tyler nods his head and then begins to knock on the door.
From inside, they hear a quiet, "Please don't be another interviewer." After another minute, the door finally opens to reveal Ashley.
"Tyler, it's so nice to see you!" she exclaims. She motions for him to come in, however, she doesn't even notice Josh. They both walk in and Ashley closes the door."I'm guessing you want to know more about Josh." she assumes. Tyler shakes his head, "Actually, no. I was wondering if you could have any leads on where your sister Abbie could be? Who could have kidnapped her or where they could've taken her?" he answers. Her eyes widen, then her face forms into a frown, "Sadly, no. I did know her really well, but I don't think someone who knew her would do that to her. She was an amazing girl; sweet, smart, caring and beautiful inside and out." Tyler nods his head, "Okay, but I promise you I will find out what happened to her." Ashley smiles at him, "Thank you."
"Also, do you guys still have Josh's room together?" Tyler asks. Ashley softly smiles, "Yeah, actually." Tyler gives Josh a devilish smile, then smiles innocently and starts following Ashley. Tyler walks into Josh's rooms and admires it.
The walls are a bright red, which goes well with the dark brown floor. It isn't that dirty, just a few clothes scattered here and there. There's some drumsticks laying on his nightstand. There's also band posters everywhere.
"Mom is still stuck in the denial phase," she sighs, "she thinks he's coming back, so she leaves his room functional for him." She frowns and wipes her eyes, "It's sad. She's had it the worst." Tyler pulls Ashley in to a hug and squeezes her for comfort. She smiles and thanks him. He says goodbye and then they drive off back home. On the way there, Josh is frowning, stuck in thought about his family. Tyler reaches over and squeezes his shoulder for reassurance.
"It's going to be okay, we will find her. I promise."Written: 4/5/18-4/18/18 Words: 1120
