1966 Indica Art Gallery
I needed to get away, it was november, the year was almost over, the guys were done touring and now i'm not sure what the future has to hold. I know that cyn the baby and I will have more time together as a family and all that rubbish but, There still seems to be something missing, John thought. As John had all these questions he made his way to the Indica art gallery. John Dunbar, Marianne Faithfull's ex husband owned it and invited John over, he knew John needed a bit of a new scene and this artist dunbar thought could bring John some new excitement in his life.
Walking into the gallery both Johns greeted each other with a short hug.
"Hello John," Dunbar said. "Hello John yourself" John said.
Is the exhibition still under construction? John thought, the exhibit looked more like a mess, with nails next to a board, and a ladder in the middle of the room.
John just scratched his head, not really sure what to expect. He spotted an apple on a stand and looked at it, and its price.
"5000 Pounds for an apple?" John said out loud. The other John noticed and just laughed.
"Well thats art for you" he just said.
"Well what the point of it?" John asked, "I mean for 5000 bloody pounds it must have a big point."
"It doesn't", dunbar responded, "that's the point" he laughed and just shook his head.
No point huh, John thought, this intrigued him.
Noticing the ladder he made his way over and climbed up.Picking up the small magnifying glass hanging from the ceiling, he read a simple three letter word on the ceiling. It read Yes
John chuckled and was very intrigued, I like that he thought.Stepping down he noticed a small japanese woman with long black hair approaching
"Oh John have you met Yoko", dunbar said.
John shook his head, and extended his hand to shake hers.
"Yoko this is john lennon." Dunbar said.
She just nodded and shyly said hello.
Does this bird not know who i am he thought, I mean how could she not the beatles are the biggest bloody things since elvis he thought.
He then noticed the empty board and the nails right by it, and promptly made his way over.
He read what it said next to the board, hammer a nail.Hmm don't mind if i do he thought picking up a nail about to hammer it in.
Yoko suddenly rushed over, "hey don't do that." she said.
"But the sign says".... John said
"Yes I know what is says but the exhibition isn't open yet." She said.
"You must respect that." she said sternly.
What is with this bird john thought nobody had told him what to do ever, John thought. Especially not some artist he has never spoken to before.
"I'm sorry" John said.
"Fine you can hammer in a nail but you have to give me five shillings. Yoko said.
John just smiled at her and chuckled, "Ok how about this I'll give you an imaginary five shillings and i'll hammer in an imaginary nail."
Yoko just stood there smiling.
This bird is trouble he thought, But trouble I want to know more of.
Present
Now here I am a year later and Yoko was definitely trouble, but the trouble I needed.
I... just want to be with her always, even when I am at home with my wife and child, nothing else matters except Yoko. I am in love, i don't know why that so hard for me to say. Even when I said it to Cyn for the first time the words could barely leave my mouth.
