As the ceremony finished, tom got up,
Cyn felt a sense of sadness. Thinking about her own wedding made her feel as though everything was slowly crumbling.
She knew she had to face john eventually.
"Lennon the weddings over" tom said confused as to why she wasn't standing up.
She couldn't answer she sat there.
"Come with me" tom said signaling her to follow him.
She looked at him but followed him.
Making there way to area that was secluded tom sat.
Cyn just looked at him not sure what they were doing here and whether or not she should sit.
"C'mon lennon i'm not gonna bite", tom said.
Sitting down next to him she waited for him to tell her what he was doing
"It's not a pretty story" tom said.
"It involves falling in love, getting married and then cheating cheating and more cheating." He said.
"I loved my wife very much. Her name was emily. We met when we were kids. Seriously i think we were five." He said.
"We got older and i knew she was the only woman i could ever be with. We got married when we were both eighteen, of course were to young but we loved each other so much."
"After about a year we had our son. Billy, besides emily he was the greatest thing to happen to me."
"And then i messed it up. I began to get bored, and really stupid." Tom said shaking his head.
"My roaming eye got the best of me and after about 5 years of marriage i started having affairs left and right."
"It was a fucking joke, here I had a woman who was my soulmate, and our beautiful son, and I was sleeping with anything that moved."
"Eventually emily found out and had enough, I had been getting distant for a while and she realized what was really going on, from then on it was fight after fight, and then she left she took billy and filed for divorce."
Cyn grabbed his hand hoping to comfort him as she saw tom start to slightly cry.
"So lennon I understand how your husband treats you because i was him at one point."
It was amazing she had never seen tom this vulnerable, he had always been so sarcastic and unpredictable. Here was a new side to him.
She now understood what made him so tough.
Wiping a bit of tears from his eyes he looked at cyn, "I've forgiven myself lennon, because i can't live my life constantly living with the choices ive made. I've made them life goes on."
"And you shouldn't feel sorry for yourself, I think you have the capacity to live for yourself. You will be ok lennon, i know it ok he asked her."
"Ok" she said with some tears in her eyes
Getting up he nodded at her and left.
She sat there, stunned at what tom revealed, but also grateful she now knew that john was no longer going to shape her life.
She was going to live her life.
She knew what she had to do.
