Teary eyed, Anna hugged her sister tightly. "You're okay." She smiled widely, not letting go of Elsa.
It was a quiet day, this was the second time they went to Elsa but it was the first to actually get near her. The first time they went they didn't actually interact because Anna felt like they would be intruding, now she couldn't hold herself back since it's been so long since she last saw her sister. "I missed you so much." Anna's voice was muffled when she said that because she buried her face into Elsa's chest. Elsa let out a small laugh, "I missed you too Anna. I'm glad you're here." She said patting Anna's back as an instinct.
"Is this where you stay at?" Anna looked around the room. Elsa nodded.
The two were left alone while Rapunzel and Cassandra were being entertained by Thia, she always thought of herself as a great host after all so she volunteered. She knew well that the two needed some catching up to do. But there wasn't many that Anna could ask, she knew Elsa was doing well during her days out of the castle since Hiccup kept her updated. All Anna could say was that she missed her sister so much.
Anna knew Elsa wasn't much of a chatterbox, she didn't like talking about her life so she didn't want to ask what Elsa has been up to lately. What she doesn't know is that the only reason Elsa didn't like talking about what she's been up to before was because she knew all the things she's been doing wasn't really something to be proud about. But after experiencing life as a commoner for a long time, she's got a lot to tell Anna, she just didn't know how to.
After they sat down there was only silence. Anna didn't let the silence bother her because she was happy enough that she got to see her sister again.
Jack came home with a surprise awaiting him. As he neared the cabin, he noticed 3 horses parked not far from their stable. He recognized one, it was Cassandra's, but the other two were a complete mystery to him. He instantly felt anxious.
He knew it wasn't the guards though, if the guards were the ones that were here there would've been more of them and they wouldn't leave the door unattended. But he couldn't quite shake off the nervous feeling he was having.
After the moment he opened the door he hasn't said a word since. His eyes were fixed on the strawberry blonde haired girl that kept trying to talk to him. He knew it was rude not to answer but he still kept his mouth shut. Luckily, Elsa took care of that for him, answering all the questions Anna asked which eventually led them to talking to each other a lot.
"I'll let you two catch up." He finally spoke but then left the two alone once more. Elsa looked at him confused but then smiled afterwards before replying 'okay' to him. With that, he left the room.
He now knew who owns the second horse, and something told him that he'd meet the owner of the third horse at the backyard. He wasn't wrong about that because when he went there he was greeted by three girls who seemed like they were in the middle of a conversation. He was later introduced to Rapunzel, and got the details explained to him; how Anna and Rapunzel got there, how they knew where to look and why they were here.
"So you're the infamous Jackson Overland?" Rapunzel asked. A small smile was all Jack gave as an answer before reverting back to his frowning self.
"I heard you were the one who saved Elsa from the evil duchess." Rapunzel asked once more but it really seemed like Jack was in no mood to talk to anyone. "Huh? Yeah, I guess." He answered, obviously not paying attention to what was just asked.
The three noticed a rather gloomy mood that Jack was having. They looked at each other, they all knew why he was feeling this way, including Rapunzel. From all the stories she heard about how Elsa was doing, she knew Jack played a big part on that. He must really be worried, that's what they all thought.
They weren't wrong, Jack was indeed worried. In fact, a lot is going through his head. All the thoughts that he never thought about before suddenly started flashing in his mind. So many questions and 'what if's were already filling his head. Besides all that he felt like there was something heavy weighing down his chest.
He really looked troubled.
Then suddenly he felt a pat on his back. "Don't worry, Anna's just here to see her sister." Rapunzel smiled widely.
That didn't remove all his questions but he felt like a thorn was removed from him. He somehow felt lighter.
Anna, Rapunzel and Cassandra stayed and had dinner there, the girls had a little bonding time when they cooked the meal together. With five girls present, Jack felt sort of out of place because he was the only guy there, Hiccup wasn't there that time since he had duties to attend to so it couldn't be helped.
After dinner they had a short talk, it just seemed like they never run out of things to talk about. But when it was already getting late, the three finally decided to go leaving the half of the group behind. Thia took care of the dishes while Jack and Elsa saw their guests off.
"I'll see you again next time Elsa." Anna smiled as she got on her horse.
"Come back anytime you want." Elsa told her with a wide smile. When Anna got on her horse her mood suddenly changed. She looked at Elsa with worried eyes. "How about you? When are you going to come back?"
Jack's eyes widened. He felt a stinging pain in his chest as he looked over at Elsa who was equally surprised as him. He was starting to feel anxious, he didn't want to hear what she would say. He doesn't know if he could take it. Part of him wanted to leave so he could escape from Elsa's answer.
But Elsa kept silent. She didn't know what to say, she was having mixed emotions about going back so she thought it would be better if she didn't answer that yet. Anna gave her a weak smile then her eyes turned to Jack who was staring at Elsa. "Take care of her for me, okay?" She told Jack, getting both of their attention.
"Of course Lady Anna." Jack bowed. "I will."
Anna laughed. "Well, we better go. Goodbye Elsa." She said waving goodbye, Cassandra and Rapunzel also said goodbye and off they went.
As they rode off, Elsa waved at them, a sad smile was imprinted on her face. She was surprised to feel a hand hold her tightly. Her attention was turned to the only person with her, Jack. His stare was fixed on the 1 inch silhouette of the three girls that just left. Elsa noticed his troubled face.
"Are you okay Jack?" She asked him with a worried face. Jack titled her head to face her. Instead of giving her an answer he pulled her in to a very tight hug. "Jack?" Elsa called him but his grip just got tighter.
His heartbeat was so fast, Elsa could feel it. Odd enough hers was matching that speed. She found herself hugging Jack back, smiling at the comfortable feeling it was giving her. They were like that for a while, just standing there holding each other. Then Jack finally spoke up.
"Elsa... I need to tell you something." He said still holding Elsa.
"What is it?" She asked, puling away from the hug to see Jack.
Jack took a deep breath as he stared into Elsa's eyes. He paused and looked away, trying to gather the courage to finally tell her what he wanted to say. When their eyes met once more his face started to heat up.
He decided, he was going to tell her and he can't back away now. Jack just pulled her again for another hug and then whispered to her ear. "I like you."
