Chapter 45 - To get a rat, part one

A couple days later, mine and Money's house, kitchen.

The whole gang, except for Shotgun, is gathered in our kitchen, talking over how we're gonna get him.

- Money, i'm sorry, brother man, but you gotta stay out of this, Jackson says.

- He put my son in jail, aint no way I'm staying out of this, Money roars.

I get up from my seat and walk over to him and sit down in his lap.

- I didn't go through with the abortion, i whisper in his ear. Stay with me, don't go with them.

- Really? Money asks.

I nod and with a little smile, he turns to Jackson.

- Alright, i stay, Money says.

- We'll need Ana to be there, Dallas says.

- No, Money says.

- Dad, c'mon, it's the only way to get Anthony, Ana says. And both uncle Danny, Nick and Cash will be there, i'll be fine.

- Is there no other way? Money asks.

- Im sorry, brother man, but no, there is no other way, we'll need Ana as bait, but like she says, both her older brothers and uncle will be there to protect her and both gangs will protect her too, KC says.

- Don't worry, dad, Ana will be safe with us, Nick says. Don't forget that she's mine and Cash's sister, and your daughter, she's tough, almost as tough as mom.

- Im gonna meet with him half an hour before the guys are set to take him out, they will track my phone, but i will also wear both a wire that will transmit everything we say to the rest of you, even to your cell phones, and i'll also wear a hidden tracker, so the guys can track me if he makes me turn off my phone, Ana says calmly.

- How will you get to where you'll meet him? i ask.

- Cash and Nick will take me, Cash has borrowed one of uncle Danny's cars that Shotgun wont recognize, he will just think i have gotten a new car, Ana says.

I give my brother a grateful look.

- I'll park a block away from where they'll meet, she will use code words or signs to call on us if she needs us, Danny says.

- Great, Money says.

- She'll be safe, dad, Cash says as he notices his father's worried expression.

- Get ready, guys and girl, we gotta hit the road in fifteen, Danny says. The truck that we're gonna ride in and the Fastback that the kids are gonna ride have all that we need in them, check your guns and ammunition, phones and radios, guys, and if you need to use the bathroom, now is the time.

- Good luck, Money and i say, hugging our offspring before we watch them and the whole gang leave.
