I hang up and look at my husband and grandson.
- Your daddy wants to see you, little man, I say looking at Corey. Come on, kiddo, lets go get him.Money helps Corey in to the car seat.
- There, little buddy, now let's go get your daddy, Money says, shuts the door and gets in behind the wheel.Money drives to the rehab center.
- Hello, we are here to pick up Jacob Harlon jr., he says into the intercom at the gates.
- And who am i speaking to? the voice in the intercom asks.
- His father, Jacob Harlon sr., Money says.
- Money, is that you? the voice that Money now recognizes as the voice of his former fellow inmate Max Farrow who now works at the rehab center.
- Hey there, Max, yeah, it's me, will you let us in now so we can pick up our boy? Money asks.
- Sure, man, i'll let you in and then go get your son for you, I should have known he was yours, he looks just like you did as a youngster, Max says and opens the gate.
Max opens the gate and Money drives in to the yard, he parks the car and helps our grandson out of the car while I get out.
- Come here, little one, Money says and lifts Corey into his arms. Let's go get your daddy.
Together we walk in to the rehab center, Corey is the first one to see Cash.
- Daddy, look grandpa, daddy, there, Corey says and points at Cash who comes towards us.
- Ah, there he is, hello Jacob, my son, how are you feeling? Money asks his son.
- I'm alright, dad, and there you have my boy, i see, hey Corey, may I hold him, dad? Cash says.
- Yeah, go to daddy, Corey, Money says and lifts the boy over to his father.
- Daddy, Corey coos as Cash takes him in to his arms.
- Hey Corey, my, how you have grown, have grandpa and grandma been good to you? Cash asks his son.
- Yeah, they have been good to me, dad, Corey says. I saw them...do things to each other the other day.
- I've seen that too, many times, Cash says.
- Grandpa made me waffles to get me out of their room, Corey says.
- Grandpa makes very good waffles, he made them all the time when I was a boy too, Cash says.
- If you want I can make you some waffles when we come home, Money says.
- Yes, please, Cash says.
- Then I will, come on, my boy, let's go home, Money says and wraps an arm around his son's shoulders.
- Mom, Cash says turning to me.
- Yes, my boy, I say.
- Can you carry my son to the car? Cash asks me and holds out Corey to me.
- No, stay with daddy! Corey complains and holds on tighter to Cash.
- Okey then, but I gotta adjust you so I don't drop you, Cash says and moves the boy who wraps his little arms and legs like a koala bear around his father, to his chest.
- I used to carry you that way when you were little, as did your mother, Money says smiling at his son and grandson. I used to carry your sister and brother that way too.
- And he still carry your youngest siblings that way, I say.
We go home and as soon as we've come in through the front door we smell waffles and bacon cooking, I look at Money and he winks at me.
In our kitchen our other three children, Ana, Nick and Sarah wait for us together with Ana's and Nick's children and their uncle, my older brother Danny.
- Uncle Danny, Cash says, hands Corey to Money and throws himself in to his uncle's open arms.
- My other beloved nephew is finally home, you look fresh, my boy, fresh and healthy, and you've given me a wonderful little grandnephew, i've helped your mum and dad take care of him, Danny says and hugs his nephew tight.
