"lily, are you almost ready?" jack called from outside the door.
"yeah, just a second" i called and finished my hair.
i walked out.
we were going out for dinner with my brother, his girlfriend and my dad for bryan's birthday.
i fed mary jane first, then we walked to jacks car.
"you look nice" he commented once we got in the car.
"you saying i never look nice?" i asked only joking.
"no no, you always look nice, i was just-"
"jack, chill out, i was joking with you" i said.
he relaxed a little. "oh right. sorry" he mumbled and we drove to the restraunt.
we got there within twenty minutes.
"hey" bryan smiled.
"hey, happy birthday!" i smiled hugging him.
"thanks" he said.
we sat down.
"thanks for coming" he then said to jack.
"of course"
my brother is now today, twenty nine years old.
he's an old man.
"you're an old man now" i joked.
"i know, i really am" he said.
"no, you're not that old, babe" lydia said.
"she's right, i'm not forty yet" he said to me.
"so, how's mary jane?" my dad asked.
"she's amazing, i love her" i smiled.
jack placed his hand on my thigh from under the table.
he has never done this before.
my heart was beating so fast, it feels different, i mean i'm not saying i don't like it, i definetly do.
it's just.. i don't know.
i grinned at him, he smiled.
lydia put her hands on the table and looked through the menu, i noticed a beautiful ring on her finger.
i looked closer and realized it was an engagement ring.
i mean, i'm not suprised because they've been together for over three years but i didn't get any call about it?
"anything that you guys want to tell me?" i asked looking at my brother.
"hm? oh uh no, nothing" he said.
"okay.." i said and looked at jack.
he saw what i saw and we were thinking the same thing.
i cleared my throat and bryan looked at me and his eyes widened.
"oh my god, i forgot to call you last week" he busted out.
"you forgot to tell her?" lydia asked.
"i'm so sorry, lily, i was gonna call you but b said he would do it, i imagined he did" she said.
"yeah, well i still don't know what you didn't tell me?" i said.
"that me and lydia are engaged" he smiled holding up her hand.
"congratulations" i smiled at them.
"thanks" they both said.
they were honestly meant to be with each other.

i layed my head on jacks lap and looked up at him.
"i'm tired" i said yawning.
"well go to sleep silly" he said.
"but i want to talk to you" i sighed.
"you can always talk to me in the morning" he pointed out.
"yeah, but i don't want to talk to you then, i want to now" i said.
"okay, what do you want to talk about lily?"
"anything" i shrugged.
"can i sing?" i asked.
"yeah, you're good" he smiled.
"yeah i know but that's boring" i shrugged.
"lily, can i ask you something?" he asked.
"yeah, anything" i said.
"what if i went on tour again?"
"i'd be very sad but very supportive because you love meeting your fans and singing for them." i said.
"but what if i wanted you to come with me.. like would you?" he asked.
is he like not telling me something?
"sure, if you really wanted me to, i would. but i wouldn't want to distract you." i said.
"you wouldn't distract me, that's silly" he said smiling down at me.
"i want to drink" i sighed.
"no, we're not going to do all that, you need sleep, you should go to sleep lily" he spoke in a soft tone.
"i don't want to sleep in my bed, i want to sleep with you next to me, i'll feel safer" i said.
he smiled more. "i'm right here" he said, he leaned down and kissed my head lightly.
"sweet dreams" he whispered.
i closed my eyes, and waited for sleep to take over.
