lillian ♡

"why?" sammy asked.

"because i'm bored and wanted to talk to someone" i said.

"you didn't eat your food?" he asked.

"i just got out of a surgery, sam, i'm not hungry" i sighed.

"what?" he said and stormed out the room.

i heard jack move, he opened his eyes and looked at me.

"hey" i said.

he looked surprised. "uh hey" he mumbled.

"you feel okay?" i then asked.

"i should be asking you that" he said.

"i'm fine. please go stop sammy, he's in a mood and about to yell at a nurse or something" i said.

"alright" he smiled small and walked out the room.

my phone vibrated twice from my side table.

i have a concussion so i can't look at it, jack walked back in a few seconds later.

"he left, said he'll be back in a few hours"

"course" i mumbled slightly annoyed.

"can you do me a favor?" i asked.

"yeah, anything" he said.

"can you tell me what my texts say? there was two" i said.

"sure" he said and grabbed my phone.

i watched him as his face fell. what is it?

"jack?" i said.

"oh uh, just your um dad saying him and bryan are coming in a few" he said.

"there were two though" i said.

"nope, just one" he said.

there was two and i know that. "give it" i said reaching out.

"no, you can't, you have a concussion, lillian" he said.

lillian, that kinda hurt.

"just tell me what the other said then" i said.

"there is only one." he said.

"jack" i said looking at him.

"i swear, only one" he said again.

"fine don't tell me" i said and looked away.

"well uh, you live here now?" he asked changing the subject.

"moved here two years ago" i mumbled.

"oh" he said.

"i left our house for you" i said.

"i know, but i can't, i can't live there" he said.

i turned back to him. "why not?"

"because" he said.

"jack, why not? because isn't a good enough answer" i spoke.

"because it reminds me of you, it reminds me of us and how much i miss you and then i think about how i was an idiot and left you, and how you hate me and how you will never realize how much of a jerk sammy is, and how he's not right for you and how much i can't have you because i ruined that." he yelled.

wow.

"i'm sorry" i whispered.

"you're lucky you're in a hospital" he said and sat back down.

"why?" i asked.

"because i would've stormed out but i'm not leaving you like your crappy excuse of a boyfriend" he said.

that is why i loved him too.

i just looked away from him and stared at the ceiling but soon fell asleep.

i woke up a few hours later to my nurse putting another bag of whatever that stuff is for my IV.

"when can i go home?" i asked her.

"a few more days, i know it's boring. you can use your phone again tomorrow though" she smiled.

"thanks" i said and she left.

"hey, i got you something" jack walked in the room and was holding a grande sized starbucks drink.

"oh thank you so much" i said, he handed it to me.

"you didn't have to-" i started but he cut me off by pressing the button for the bed to go up and talking.

"don't, i wanted to" he said.

"thank you" i said looking at him.

he just nodded.

and for the next few days, everyday jack stayed with me, he brought games, we played stuff, watched the random and stupid shows on the hospital televisions whenever sammy didn't come.

he was here too, just not as much as jack.
