SHE'S BEEN CAUGHT IN SPIDEY'S WEB! MARY-ELLEN DONNELLY HAS LANDED A KEY ROLE IN NEW SPIDER-MAN ROLE WITH TOM HOLLAND
PUBLISHED 7 March 2016

On Monday, Deadline reported that a new actress has landed a 'key role' in the new Spider-Man reboot with Tom Holland as Spider-Man.

"She was amongst the actresses who've quietly been tested for roles, and I hear she will be playing a characters caller Anna Maria," reported the site.

Mary-Ellen Donnelly, 15, is part of the new talent rising in Hollywood.

The Solihull, West Midlands native has never stared in a film or television role. This will be her first acting role.

Deadline also went on to say it doesn't look as if there will be a romantic lead for Spider-Man, which would be highly unusual.

In the comics, Parker romanced Mary Jane and Gwen.

The new movie will be directed by Jon Watts of Cop Car fame.

Holland, 19, will also appear in Captain America: Civil War which will come out in May.
