Mary-Ellen's House, Birmingham

This was the calm before the storm. There were two weeks of peace and rest left before a month of travelling around the world, doing endless interviews and walking the red carpet in glamorous dresses. Well, that part won't be so bad.

It was May half-term so I also had a week off school which meant total relaxation. Tom was staying at my house for the first three days and then I was going to London for his birthday weekend.

Speaking of Tom, he was currently snoring quietly behind me in my three-quarter bed with his arm draped over my waist and his head in my pillow. He'd managed to crawl onto my side of the bed, leaving me on the edge and no space to breath. I didn't want to get up and disturb him so I went on my phone and flicked through Snapchat and Instagram. I felt his arm tighten around my waist and he moaned.

"Give me attention, Ellen," he whined.

"Can't. I'm preoccupied with my girlies," I joked.

"Pleaaasssseeee?"

"Well, since you said please."

I placed my phone on the beside table and rolled over to face him. His unruly curls were spread on the pillow and his shirtless torso was covered by the duvet. His lips were pouted like a child who was begging its mother for sweets. I chuckled and poked his nose.

"What's the matter, honey?" I asked, my Brummie accent coming through when I called him honey.

"I want my girlfriend to give me attention," he whined again.

"I have been giving you attention. I've been all over you since you got here yesterday," I defended myself.

"I know, but I'm a self-conscious person so you need to show me love regularly," he said.

"Well I never thought my boyfriend would be the clingy one in this relationship."

"And I'm proud to be clingy."

I smiled and leaned in to peck his cheek. He grabbed the back of my neck and kissed my lips. He tried to deep the kiss but I pushed his chest lightly.

"I need a shower," I said.

Tom jokingly sniffed me and scrunched up his nose.

"Yeah, good idea, darling," he said.

I swatted his chest and got out of bed. I grabbed my towel and walked into the bathroom for my shower. Thirty minutes later, I was dressed and washed for the day. We didn't have any plans today but for people in our business, having no plans was a good thing. I made my way downstairs and found Tom in grey joggers and a dark blue t-shirt cooking breakfast. Marley, my cat, was sat on the floor beside him watching him cook.

"So, I was thinking," Tom said, flipping an egg in the pan.

"Dangerous thing to do," I said.

"I was thinking," he said more seriously, "we should go out and do something."

I poured tea for myself and Tom. I leaned against the counter beside the job where Tom was cooking.

"As long as this something isn't anything to do with physical activity," I said.

"Nah, nothing like that. I've been wondering what the safari park was like. The one in Kidderminster," he said.

"West Midlands Safari Park?"

"Yeah, that one."

"Ok, let's go there today."

He turned to me with a bright smile on his face.
