Charlotte's House, Birmingham, EnglandI never thought I would miss cold, miserable England. I missed the constant rain, I missed the foggy weather, but most importantly I missed my friends.
After my final day shooting back in August, my parents had arranged a surprised trip to New York and Canada. We spent four days in the city, drove through the state of New York for three days and stayed in Ontario for another three days. We saw everything a tourist should see; the Empire State Building, 9/11 Memorial, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, all the museums and of course, a helicopter ride over Niagara Falls. On our last night, my parents and I went to dinner at the Skylon Tower where they had a revolving dining room and watched the fireworks over the Falls. It was such an amazing trip.
By September, I was ready to start Sixth Form. Going back to school really grounded me and my dreamland fairytale came to a screeching halt. I felt bored with my school life and I was itching to go back to America. In fact, I was just itching to see Tom again. He texted me throughout the day in my first week back and teased me about being in school whilst he was chilling on set, using Harrison as his personal skivvy. Dickhead.
Tonight was the first time I would see Tom in almost three months. He was coming to Charlotte's 17th Birthday bonfire party and he was bringing Harrison with him. We had a plan to get Harrison and Charlotte together since they both had huge crushes on each other. Hopefully, Harrison makes the first move because Charlotte is a prude when it comes to making the first move.
"Ellen, will you put the bowls out on the table?" Charlotte asked.
I took the bowls of crisps and nuts and placed them on the dining table. The whole table was full of food and drinks (some were alcoholic) ready for the guests.
"I think everything is done," I said to Charlotte as she runs into the room putting her heals on.
"Ok, that's good," she huffed nervously. "Harrison is definitely coming, right?"
I giggled at her nervousness and nodded. "That's what Tom said. Besides, he wouldn't miss out on a chance to see you."
Charlotte tutted and swiped my arm. "Oh, don't lie to me. He's not that into me."
"Now who's lying?" I scoffed. "The whole reason Tom and Harrison are coming is because Harrison asked to come. Voluntarily. Of his own accord."
Charlotte shrugged as she put her stud earrings in.
"I suppose so." She stepped back from the mirror, fluffed her hair, pulled her dress and down and turned to me. "Well? How do I look?"
"Absolutely incredible," I smiled at her. "Harrison won't know what hit him."
Charlotte laughed and went over to the crisp bowl, picking up a crisp and eating it nervously. The doorbell rang and we both smiled at each other.
