Angel's pov
—"Angel, honey, it's time to get up. You can't be late for your first day." My mother's arms shook me from my peaceful slumber. I debated if I wanted to play dead or not. Maybe she'd leave me be. Maybe she wouldn't make me go to school today, or ever.
"I will send your brother with you if you don't get up." She threatened, ripping the blankets off of my body, leaving my body almost completely bare besides for my bra and underwear.
"I'm up, okay." I mumbled against my pillows as I opened my eyes. I still wasn't used to my bedroom looking like this. I do, however, remember how my old bedroom looked and I missed it dearly.
My mom smiled in delight as she watched me from the far end of my bedroom. I sat up and covered my body with the comforter, waiting for her to leave the room. She soon left, closing my door behind her.
I lifted myself off of the bed and lugged my tired body towards the closet where the majority of my clothing hung. I slid open the mirror doors and began to pull out possible outfit choices. First day at a new school, I need to impress them.
I finally picked out a simple outfit, one that isn't too blan, yet also isn't too out there. A black and white striped shirt that showed a small part of my midriff, and a pair of denim skinny jeans with small holes in the knees. For my shoes I went with my white vans. I brushed my hair and ran my straightener through it a few times before I turned it off and applied makeup. I've never been one to cake my face full of makeup. I usually just put on some mascara and highlight, thats all.
"Bye mom!" I yelled before stepping out of the house. I walked down to the street where my car was parking. I unlocked it, got inside, and pulled up the directions to my new school.
—
As normal schools are, everyone was all crowded together in the hallways. I already don't like this school so far. Everyone has been rude. I mean, I asked a guy for directions to my first class and he laughed in my face, leaving me to have to find my way around the school myself.
"Do you need help?" I felt a hand on my shoulder, causing me to let off a faint scream. I turned around to see a boy about 5'11, maybe 6 foot, standing there. I looked at him and put my hand over my heart since it was beating a million miles a minute from the surprise.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked, laughing. He shook his head and smiled.
"I'm Ethan, you are?" He questioned, then eyed my schedule in my hand.
"I'm Angel. Nice to meet you Ethan." I smiled, he smiled back before taking my schedule from me.
"Oh, dope! You have first period with me. I'll show you to the class, and afterwards I'll walk you to your second hour." He said, examining the white paper. I nodded and stood there awkwardly as people stared at me while they passed us.
"Oh, also, it's nice to meet you too. Did you just move here? I've never seen you around this town, it's so small I think I'd remember a pretty face like yours." He looked up from the paper, "and you have fourth and fifth period with my brother, you'll love him. He's so chill. Then you have sixth period with my friend Jason and I."
"Oh- yeah I just moved here a month ago." Now I felt awkward. How do I respond to someone who says that? I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, my cheeks flushed with a rosy color.
"Oh thats so cool. Where did you move here from?" He asked, folding up my schedule and handing it back to me, "this way." He motioned as the bell rang. I followed beside him.
"I moved from Castro, its about a thirty-six hour drive from here. Can you tell me about Belle Dam? I don't know anything about this place." I looked at him from the side of my eye, seeing what his facial expression was.
"Oh, yeah. Sure I can tell you all about it at lunch, if you don't mind sitting with me." He looked at me and raised an eyebrow, I smiled while I nodded.
"Sure." I responded. He smiled and opened the classroom door for us to walk in. He let me go in first, holding the door for me. I thanked him as I passed through the frame.
The first thing I smelt when I walked into the classroom was weed. The smell of weed makes me nauseous, and deepening on how strong the smell is, it can make me throw up. My panic starts to set in, not wanting to throw up in my first period class on my first day of school. I keep my head down and walk towards the side of the classroom, setting my bag down on the seat I've chosen to sit at for the year. I cover my nose and mouth with my hands, trying to block the smell of weed, it works for a minute.
"Are you okay?" Ethan asked, sitting in the seat next to me. I nodded. His eyebrows knitted together and he shook his head, "are you nervous?"
"No, the smell. I get sick when I smell weed." I whispered. His eyebrows raised and he stood up, looking around the classroom. I sighed and recovered my mouth.
I watched some kid walk out of the classroom, the smell almost eliminating once he left and the door shut. I didn't even realize Ethan had left his seat. I looked at him confused when I uncovered my face. I heard the door shut again, and an older lady walked in. She must be our teacher.
"How did you get the smell to go away?" I asked, my voice quiet since I didn't know if I'd get in trouble or not. He looked behind him, them back at me.
"I just told him to get out of the classroom because he was making me sick." He shrugged his shoulders and pulled out a pencil. I nodded slowly, kind of not believing it. From where I came from, if someone asked someone that calmly, a fight would break out. Maybe thats just what I'm used to and things are different here in Belle Dam.

This sucks(:Hi, yes this is a new fanfic. I have everything planned for it, all I have to do is execute it into writing. I really really hope you guys like this— because this is completely original and I've never written anything like this. I've also done extensive research on what being mute is, and what it's like. But, if I don't have everything accurately written out, dont kill me.
What am I even saying, this story is gonna flop so this is all pointless.
Okay byee.
