Grayson' pov
—"Do you like her?" Ethan asked, looking at me from the drivers seat of his car. I looked at him weirdly, then began to sign my response.
"What do you mean? Who is her? Why would you think I like her?" I signed. He shrugged his shoulders as we got to a red light.
"You know who I mean by her, Grayson. I think she's pretty, and she seems like your type." He said, I shrugged.
"I don't know her like that. I only met her yesterday." I signed, but I was lying. I thought about her all the time since I first saw her on Thursday. She was so confident within herself, and not to mention beautiful.
Her hair was a light brown, dirty blonde color. In the sunlight you could see the natural highlights throughout her hair. Her eyes are a really pretty brown- which sparkle in the sunlight, like her hair. She was small, very skinny, but had curves. Theres no way in hell she'd ever go for a guy like me; a guy thats mute.
I wish I could explain what it was like having a crush when you're mute, but I can't. I haven't had a crush on anyone since my freshman year, and that ended horribly. Ever since then I've just thought of myself as the lesser-type of "boyfriend material." If Angel were to go for Ethan or I, it'd definitely be Ethan. One because, well he talks and I don't. Two because he's just the better twin in my opinion. He's popular, he's buff, he's a good guy— well sort of.
Soon we arrived at the grocery store, and Ethan grabbed a cart from outside. I've always hated grocery shopping, especially with Ethan. I'm usually the cook, but he never wants what I make. I'm actually a really good cook, but he doesn't appreciate that.
We walk around for a while and throw stuff into the cart. Well, Ethan throws stuff in the cart. I was trying to think of things to make for actual dinners. Like chicken, steak, maybe even pork chops.
"Lets make steak for dinner? I'll grill them." Ethan said, leaning over the meats in the showcase for them. I nodded. I looked up and saw a familiar body shape, and hair color. The girl was facing away from me, her arms reaching into the meat case and grabbing hamburger. She laughed at what the older woman next to her said, I'm guessing thats her mom. I nudged Ethan's shoulder. He looked up as he held a pack of steak in his hands and reached for a bag. I pointed at Angel, and he smiled.
"Angel?" Ethan called. She looked over her shoulder and smiled. He mother looked at us, smiling at us too. "I just wanted to tell you the eggs you made this morning were delicious." He complimented. Her jaw dropped and she widened her eyes. I looked at her mom, and her mom looked at her with furrowed eyebrows.
"Oh, hey guys." She said, while walking towards our cart. Her mom followed her as she threw the hamburger in the cart, "Ang, introduce me to your friends."
"Ethan, Grayson, this is my mom. Ms. Russ. Mama, this is Ethan- and thats Grayson." She introduced us to each other. Her mom smiled again, then stuck her hand out to meet mine once I stuck it out. I smiled at her as Ethan shook her hand.
"Its nice to meet you Ms. Russ." He smiled. She nodded and looked at Angel.
"Its nice to meet you two boys. Please, call me Caroline. Angel, why don't you invite them for dinner tonight?" She looked at her daughter. Angel's jaw clenched and she looked at her mother, then at Ethan with pleading eyes.
