Angel's pov
—"Grayson!" I laughed as he tackled me onto the living room couch. He laughed and pushed my hair out of my face, leaning down and connecting our lips. He pulled away and smiled.
"How's your therapy going?" I asked. He finally told me about it two weeks ago. He smiled when I asked and sat up.
"Really good. I think it's really helping." He signed. I nodded.
"Thats good Grayson!" I was excited for whats to come from his therapy. I rested my hands on his cheeks, pulling his face closer to mine.
"You're so-" the front door opened, and I heard an awkward cough. Grayson looked up from where he was hovering over me. His face drained of color, and he quickly got off me. I knitted my eyebrows together and looked at him. He had an awkward smile on his face, and he was looking at whoever came in the door.
"Who is this?" A woman asked. I sat up and looked to see who it is, I found an older woman, she was very small and skinny. She had to be in her late sixties, early seventies. She raised her eyebrows at me when she saw me sit up.
"This is Angel. My girlfriend." Grayson signed to the woman. I'm assuming she's his grandmother. She smiled when he signed the word girlfriend.
"Do you talk?" She asks, looking at me. I nod and get off the couch.
"Yes, I do. It's nice to meet you— I'm Angel." I smiled and stuck my hand out to shake hers. She smiled again, shaking my hand.
"I'm Tina. I'm Grayson and Ethan's grandma. It's nice to meet you dear." She looked past us and at the stairs.
"Ethan's in his room, probably asleep." Grayson signed towards his grandmother. She nodded, and started to walk towards the stairs.
"I think I'm going to head home." I looked down at my fingers. I looked back up, realizing Grayson doesn't talk. He nodded his head and began to sign.
"I'll drive you."
"No, I think I'm going to walk. I'll see you tomorrow at school?" I opened the front door. He sighed and nodded.
"Text me when you get home." He signed as he watched me walk towards the sidewalk. I nodded, smiling at how sweet he is.
Monday
—"Ms. Russ, can you please explain the-" my teacher spoke, but the bell cut him off. Now that, I can call that being saved by the bell. I watched all the students rush from their seats and out the door to go to the lunch room.
I smiled as Grayson appeared at my desk. He waited for me to get out from my seat, then brought our hands together. He brought them to his mouth, kissing the back of my hand. I smiled and continued our way to the lunch room.
We sat at the table we shared with our friends, except Vanessa wasn't there. She never sits with us anymore. I felt bad, but I had no idea she had a thing for Grayson. I wouldn't have gone for him if I knew she wanted him, but I guess its too late now.
Grayson tapped my hand to get my attention from looking around the cafeteria, "this weekend I want us to go out on a special date."
I smiled and nodded. I watched him blush as he asked. He simply was the purest guy I've ever met.
"I would love to, Grayson." I responded with words finally. He smiled, nodding his head, then turning back to the conversation with our friends.
Grayson's pov
—"Grayson, say her name." My therapist urged me to speak. I knew I could. I had a deep feeling of being able to find my voice. I needed motivation, which my therapist provides, but I want Angel's motivation. I need her motivation. Not my therapist who gets paid to help me.
I opened my mouth to talk, but yet again, nothing came out. I sighed. I wanted to talk so badly. My goal was to start talking this weekend. I wanted to talk to Angel. She was the only person I wanted to talk to, besides Ethan. But Angel was more special to me than Ethan. Ethan doesn't hype me up as much as Angel. He used to, until we met Angel. Then he kind of just gave all this stuff he's had to do since what happened to Angel.
She doesn't complain, and she never seems annoyed when I have to sign, or write when I have to say. She always smiles. She always kisses my cheek, or holds my hand. She cared, or made it seem like she cares. I just wanted that feeling from someone, and I guess Angel is that someone.
"Grayson, just say her name. Once, thats all." He sighed deeply. He probably thought this was all an act, or he really cared. I'm not sure.
"I'm trying." I signed to him. He nodded and looked around the room.
"At least make the beginning sound of her name." He emerged me to say something. I closed my eyes for a second, thinking. I was trying to motivate myself. I wanted to do this, for Angel.
"A-A-Ang," my voice cracked. It was hoarse and weak, but deep, "gel. Angel." I opened my eyes, wide. My therapist was clapping. I laughed and looked at my hands in the chair.
"You did it! Grayson, thats great!" He seemed happier than I did. "Are you okay with trying to say something else?"
"I-I think so." I laughed, I just wanted to feel myself talk again. My therapist began to clap again.
"You're talking, Grayson. You've done it." He nodded his head at me. "How does it feel?"
"Weird." I felt my chest with my hand as I spoke. "It feels so weird," my voice started to sound less hoarse, and normal, "but I like this feeling."
"I want you to wait until Friday to show Angel. You can show Ethan, but I want you to show her on the special night of yours." He instructed.
"But I want to show her now." I sighed.
"It could make Friday even more special." He insisted. I nodded.
"Okay," I agreed, "thank you for helping me these past six years. For not giving up on me."
"Grayson, its my job. I'm glad that you can talk again, especially for your girl friend. I also would like to meet her. Bring her to next week's session." He raised an eyebrow at me. I nodded my head.
"O-okay." I opened the door to his office. "Bye." I stepped out closing the door behind me.

Short chapter, but I've decided I'll be making this shorter than my other books. There will still be more updates, but my other books consist of 40+ chapters. This one will not.Oh yeah he talks now, so yay?
