Angel's pov

"Princess, how are you and Grayson?" My father asks as I sit on the cold metal bench that connects to the table.

"We're good, daddy. I came here about Harry, though." I looked at him, he nodded.

"What about that boy? He's lucky I haven't had him killed yet. He broke in on you, while Grayson was there. Grayson could have killed the boy after what he saw with his parents. If you want me to, I will send my guys after Harry." He huffed and gruffed. He doesn't like me being in harms way.

"Thats enough, Russ!" The security guard yelled, hitting the window. My father cooled down and looked me in the eyes.

"No, I don't need you in here longer than you're already in here for. I'm just worried," I sighed. He nodded and grabbed my hand comfortingly. I took a deep breath, "I don't want somebody to come after Grayson, or Ethan. They don't deserve it. They're both such sweet, caring people to me. They deserve the whole world, daddy. I don't want Grayson to get hurt. Can you make sure nobody hurts them?" I begged, squeezing his hand. He nodded, rubbing his thumb on the back of it.

"Of course, Angelita. I will always make sure your friends are safe if you ask." He spoke to me with my real name. I nodded and looked at my other hand in my lap.

"I have to go, Grayson is waiting in the rental car for me. We have to fly back to Belle Dam in a half hour. When will you have your court? Like— when will the determine if you committed the crimes or not?" I asked, standing up.

"Next month. The thirty-first. Tell your mother and Carter that I love them." He smiled at me. I nodded.

"Of course. Bye, daddy." I knocked on the door for the guard to let me out. He walked me to the door, to make sure no one tried to grab me from the cells.

Once I stepped outside, I saw Grayson leaning against the trunk of the rental car. He looked up, sending me a smile.

"Did you tell him what you needed to tell him?" He asks, kissing my cheek in a greeting way. I smiled, kissing his keep too.

"Yeah, I told him exactly what I needed to." I sighed in relief. He smiled, opening the passenger side door, "lets get home to Belle Dam."

"Good idea." I smiled, he closed the door and got in the car.

Once our plane landed and we gathered all of our luggage, we walked outside to find my mom at her car. She greeted us both with smiles, along with Ethan.

"Hey, Ang." He greeted. I smiled back as I began to load my bag into the trunk, but Grayson took it from me.

Ethan and I haven't been on the best of terms since Harry broke into my house. He told me that if Grayson stopped talking again it'd he my fault. It made me think, but nothing happened after that. I was worried that Ethan would begin to hate me. I guess he hasn't since he talked to me. Or maybe I'm just over thinking everything like I always do.

After we drop the twins off at their house, we drive to ours. We had stopped at this one restaurant thats drive through only and got something for the boys before we dropped them off.

As we got to our own house, the sun was setting. It gave me a sense of peace. Maybe my father won't be convicted of those crimes, maybe he was set up. I know he committed them, but he was ill. He was mentally ill, he'd just lost his life long best friends. I know those don't justify what he did, but I know my father is a good man. Or a better man than what's perceived of him on the news, the papers, anything.

"Ang, will you take your luggage to your room and sort your clothes so I can run the laundry?" My mom sets the bag of food on the table. I furrow my eyebrows and nod. She never offers to do my laundry.

"Yeah, sure." I picked the bag up and carried it up the stairs. I hummed the tune of my favorite song while I headed towards my room. I've been doing that a lot lately, now quite sure why.

I heard ruffling on the other side of my door. I took a deep breath, expecting it to be Harry again.

It wasn't. To my surprise it was my best friend from Castro, the one I thought I'd never see again after moving.

"Bella!" I squealed in excitement. I guess I did miss her more than I thought.

"Angel!" She gave me the same energy, quickly coming over and embracing me in a tight hug. "It's been so long, A! We have so much to catch up on."

"We definitely do! What are you doing here?" I asked, pulling away from our hug. She backed away and looked around my room again.

"I hated Castro without you, so we moved here." She smiled a small smile, but it wasn't genuine.

"Whats the real reason, B?" I crossed my arms, watching her scan my wall full of nothing but old pictures of my family.

"My dad lost his job, and my mom is now locked up in a prison down here." She sighed, but shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Are you here permanently now?" I asked, she nodded.

"For the remainder of the school year. Anyways, whats this I've seen of your hot new boytoy?" She sat down on my bed, waiting for me to fill her in.

"Grayson. Yeah, he's amazing. I absolutely love him. He's so kind and sweet. His brother is cool too. But Grayson has a bigger heart, I think thats what lead me to him." I smiled, sitting on my bed as I thought about Grayson.

"Woah, woah, woah. Wait. You love this boy? You aren't one for relationships. I'm your best friend, I know that for a fact." She raised an eyebrow at me.

"People change, Bel. I changed for the better. I love it here. I love Grayson, all the friends I've made here. It's literally how I always dreamed high school to be." I explained.

"Wow, okay. You are definitely not the Angel I remember." She laughed half heartedly. I shrugged.

"Is that a problem?" I asked, confused at why she wasn't happy for my successes. She stood up and walked towards my door.

"Yes, well no. You just don't have the same energy you used to. Right now we would be out partying on a night like this. I'll see you at school on Monday." She closed my door behind her, leaving me alone.

Have I really changed that much?
