Lana's POV

An engagement party. That's why he wanted to drive.

"What were you gonna do if I said no?" I ask.

"Turn it into a congrats party. We just got a record deal."

Everyone cheers and takes a drink from their cups. I walk to the sink and fill mine up with water. I don't drink alcohol anymore and neither does Jesse.

He told a few months ago about his player days when he would take home random girls all the time. After that we both decided we wouldn't drink.

He did a really good job of decorating. He put up gold ribbons and white Christmas lights around the door frames and edges of the counters.

Everyone is dancing and laughing happily together but for some reason I don't feel happy.

I walk outside with my phone in hand and dial the number I want. I haven't talked to her in a month.

"You finally decided to call." She snaps.

"I'm sorry Nat. I've been busy."

"Too busy for your best friend."

I sigh. "I'm sorry okay. I've just been stressed out with work and the band and Jesse."

She's quiet for a minute then she says,"don't ever do that to me again. I'll forgive you this time but if it happens again Mckenzie I swear to god you won't have a friend to call anymore."

I smile. "Thank you."

"Yeah, yeah whatever."

We both laugh. It feels like forever since I've talked to her.

"How's Niall?"

"Bad. It seems like it's getting worse each day. He's torn."

I sigh and run a hand through my hair. Why can't he just move on? I am no good for him, he should know that by now.

"Nat we got a record deal."

"WHAT!?" she screams.

I laugh. "We got a record deal."

"Holy shit. You're gonna be famous." We are silent for a minute before she speaks again. "What about us?"

"What do you mean?"

"If you become famous, the boys will eventually find out. They'll see you on the tv and know it's you."

Oh shit. I never thought about that. "I'll call Tanner and talk to him about it. I have other news though."

"Oh tell me, tell me, tell me."

I take a deep breath. "Imgettingmarriedtojesse."the words come out fast and rushed together.

"What?"

I'm really scared of her reaction because I know she always hoped I would come back to Niall. "I'm getting married." I clear my throat. "To Jesse."

I hear glass break and know that she dropped something.

"Babe are you okay?" I hear Harry's deep voice in the background.

"I'm fine Hazza. Could you clean that up for me?" I hear rustling and a door close.

"You're getting married?" she asks.

"Yea."

"Are you sure that's what you want to do?"

"Yes."

She's sighs and curses under her breath. "Fine. If that's what you want then I can accept that. When's the wedding?"

"Don't know yet but I want you to be my maid of honor."

She chuckles. "I haven't even met the guy yet."

I giggle. "Yea your right. Maybe I can set up a dinner where you and my mom could come down and meet him."

"Sounds good. Are the boys invited to the wedding?"

"What?"

She laughs. "Come on Mckenzie. I told you they were gonna find out about you sooner or later and when they see the ring on your hand they're gonna want to come."

"Right. Uh then yea they're invited."

"Cool. Well I got to go. Talk to me soon, okay?"

"Okay. Bye."

She hangs up and let out a breath of relief. I'm really glad she agrees to this wedding.

I start to walk back inside but stop when I receive a text message.

From Niall.

It's a picture of Jesse kissing me against my car. "I know," is all it says.

Niall knows.
